Such length. Knight is better at least for now, MIL basically admitted they only made the trade cause they didn't want to pay him going into his free agency.

Knight's just not a long-term PG for the Bucks.
He's a decent player but not the PG you want moving forward. He's a prototypical sixth man.
It was a good trade by the Bucks. Very good asset management.

DJ Augustin hadn't been particularly good this season, until he became a starter. But we know what he is, he's basically already reached his ceiling and it's career backup PG. Still, he was on such a great contract.
Reggie Jackson has more potential, but he also hasn't been that good this year. I guess a large part of the low efficiency was being on OKC and trying to win himself a new contract, so maybe he can find a better fit with the Pistons given how good at the PnR he is. Still, both PGs starting performances this year are pretty similar. I'd feel a lot better if Jackson were good at defense or something.
Giving up Singler kind of sucks. We have extra 3pt shooters, but I believe he was our best (at least at the corner 3.) I assume salary balancing was a big factor in throwing him in.
I was completely against the Tayshaun trade, until I heard Jerebko wanted out. Jerebko has worked his ass off for us and I think he's still a really good role player, but he never got a fair shot. The same might be true for Datome as well. Getting Tayshaun back is just bleh. Fairweather Pistons fans love Tayshaun. Pistons fans who watched the losing seasons hate Tayshaun. Dude was a prick on the court, bad lockerroom presence, terrible on offense and overrated on defense. I'm so used to seeing him hold the ball for 8 seconds and then jack up a 19 foot jumper. Another poster said, "he had to winning a staring contest every time before making his first move."
I wonder what other options we could've had for Jerebko.

Reggie Jackson trade was really good for Detroit. I don't think they gave up anything worth much. next Reggie is a big enough upgrade of DJ Augustin that it is worth a 2nd and Kyle Singler.
Besides, I think Augustin's an expiring contract next year and Kyle Singler is a UFA.

The Pels really need to sit Davis. They're not going to make the Playoffs.
Boogie, are you OK with paying Reggie as your starting PG?

AD/Ryan Anderson out in the same night damn

He's good enough, I think? There's like some fear that you end up with Aaron Brooks or Kemba Walker production level. But Reggie's only in his 3rd year and he passes the eye test for me. He's certainly not a franchise guy, I think he's crazy to have turned down 48/4.
As I'm typing this, I've changed my mind. I think you regret max-ing out Reggie Jackson in 2015. He's not a good three point shooter, he doesn't really draw a ton of fouls, he hasn't shown a preternatural passing ability. He's just a handful of nice finishers with good handles at point guard. What the heck....I no longer like the trade O_o

Yep. The analytics on him aren't great, outside of PnR and penetration.
SVG made the point that his shooting form is excellent, so he could become a good 3pt shooter.

The incoming cap-pocalypse impacts players signed this offseason? Or does it apply to the 2016 offseason? A pre-cap jump Reggie deal is probably pretty safe, even if it would be an overpay.

eh, would be interesting to see how he does in an actual offense. i dont think he'll be that much better of a 3 shooter though. guy's inconsistent

If it was just Reggie with no SVG as his coach I wouldn't like it as much. But I believe in SVG.

Geez, NYK was a dumpsterfire before Carmelo sat.
Where's Mazzeo to rage when you need him?

I feel like the Pistons hit a lot of shots we shouldn't. Our improved defense is really paying dividends though. It's interesting cause Drummond really hasn't been very good on defense, but I think Monroe has improved a lot on defense. I know he's going to get paid anyways, but I think Monroe is becoming a fair max player.
Reggie wasn't that great today. He was alright on the PnR with Monroe but I feel like Dinwiddie is the real bright spot there. Also, KCP hit a lot of stupid shots.

Russ with the casual 14 assists @ 3rd quarter

Yeah it felt like he was jacking up shots, especially towards the end. Though it was garbage time anyway so I guess it isn't too big of a deal.

He started the game pretty poorly but he gets a pass since he was literally throwing up out of nervousness.
Dinwiddie looked like the best floor general out there though, even though he didn't hit anything.

If Stan Van Gundy really pulls this off and gets RJ to play like he did last year + a revamped Drummond by next season he is even better than I thought (and I have high praise for him)
