Unlike Fabregas (who never really loved Arsenal), Lampard really loved his club.

I wish I could look at it realistically and say: 'Oh well, a 27 year old Fabregas is going to have a bigger impact on the pitch than a 37 year old Lampard'. But I just can't.... Good thing its on loan and Frank can say in his memoirs that technically he wasn't really playing for ManC.

Both clubs have a clause should they want to bind the player permanently.

Or the deal with Sokratis was also not really "clean" (Sokrates had a almost finished deal with Leverkusen but Dortmund jumped in last second). Like every three days there comes something like "we cant win because they have so much money..." or "everything is so fantastic here because we are great without money..." blabla its not Bayerns fault that they cant hold their team together. Not saying the Bayern officials are better, Rummenige is basically a walking phrase jukebox and attention whore. But he is pretty good at making sponsors happy, its not accidental that he says on the AUDI US tour "yea guys btw. Reus exit clause isnt that expensive *wink* *wink*".

Ehh, we only have Hoeneß' word that his shady dealings had nothing to do with Bayern. I trust him as much as a football player saying "I will never play for x club"

I trust him as much as a football player saying "I will never play for x club" Of course we only have his words. I just wanted to say that I wouldn't blame the whole club for someone's behaviour. Rummenigge didn't pay some taxes when he brought presents from arabia, right? Sure he was there on behalf of the club but I'm not going to blame Robben, their equipment manager or the groundkeeper for things they most likely didn't know. As a sports club Bayern are extremely hard competitors and I might not like it, Berlin (think they lost 3-4 players from their basketball teams starting 5 to Bayern in one season) might not like it and whoever else might hate it but as far as i know these were all legal transfers. As were Dortmund's transfer of Sokratis, Leverkusen's transfer of Calhanoglu (in which the player did shady things but not the club), etc.

His case was investigated by a trial, and you can bet that dozens of journalists have tried to find anything linking his case to Bayern. After so many of his "shady dealings" were turn upside down, it seems rather unplausible to me that exactly those with Bayern (if there were any) were left untouched, unless you invoke a conspiracy. I'm not saying that 100% there was nothing, but I'd say that this case is about as far from "only his word" as I can imagine.

The rumors were that he lost over 100 million € and thats a lot even for him so there were some rumors about Adidas involved and stuff that were shut down with his "i dont go into revision you dont ask" deal. But thats not Bayerns buisness. I have two arguments against that Bayern was involved first the DFL license is pretty harsh, which means you have to be relatively open in terms of money flows as well as to the members of the club. The second is that it is no empthy phrase if you say "Hoeneß is Bayern Munich". You can think about him what you want but it is indisputable that his heart hangs on the club he made big the past 40 years. Risking his lifetime achievement to save some taxes and make private money he doesnt necessarly needs is something i dont believe.

Even the question where the money came from is not open, that was one of the first things cleared in the trial. The money came from french billionaire and former Adidas boss Robert Louis- Dreyfuss, who was apparently (according to newspappers) a good friend of Hoeness. Hoeness according to the trial paid all the money back after he initially won a lot of money with his speculations (which he then lost again).

This is gonna be a long season. Yeah, painful defending and I don't think it's going to get much better unfortunately.
