any case, pretending that no one fell in love with the game because of the defensive side of the game is erroneous.
Yeah, the greek national team has so many cheering for them every event, no wait. And to imagine we haven't played that way for some years now. Just stop sated, you are wrong.
*feck these quotes, lol, k fixed it.
Greece in the 2014 WC was more boring the the 2004 EC? While I hated the way Greece played in 2004, I loved watching their matches, because they were really really exciting games..

Most of them were a total drab. The Czechs played godly and literally had Olympian level bad luck. So that game was fun. But France the Portugal game were snooze fests. Except maybe the first 20 minutes of the first half of the final.

Yeah actually I guess the game vs france was absolutely dreadful now that I remember it. It was mostly the game vs czech republic which was incredible. Game vs Portugal I recall as exciting though, but it would be much more spectacular if an EC finals featuring the host country was not.
Basically you are saying that ali was too good and that made his matches less entertaining since they weren't the slagfests you wanted to see. If you can't see what's wrong with that, well, no reason to discuss.

The finals had that "the underdog win is real" effect which was nice. Everyone likes an underdog. I was upset that the Dutch didnt make the final.too. Was really looking forward to Holland v Czech. That wouldve been an absolute cracker.

I'd much rather watch Ali vs someone as good as Ali than say, me vs someone as good as me. But I'd much rather watch me vs me than Ali vs me, and not just because of the discomfort watching myself be destroyed would leave me with. That said I think boxing is dreadfully boring even if all possible good factors are in place. ;p
I don't feel like watching Bayern Munich play bundesliga matches, even though I think Bayern together with Real are the best two teams in the world right now. It has nothing to do with style, it's related to them being so good that I think they would win the league even if they had to play every match 10 vs 11 players. That being said, if Bayern would start every game down 0-1 and with 10 players (like vs city! ) then I would be watching them all the time, because it would once again be exciting.
When an athlete or a team finally emerges from a pile of mediocrity to raise above all, you find their display of dominance boring? That narrow mindedness, Q_Q.

There's a difference between respecting someone's ability and finding what they do entertaining.
It's that I can't understand how you find it less entertaining than watching the same spectacle again and again and again... and again.

Whenever "not my preferred team or player" dominates, it is boring. For me, that has held true for every sport and every competition I have ever watched. When my preferred team (or player) has dominated, I have enjoyed it. Also true for every sport and every competition I have ever watched. My argument is that to me, style is largely irrelevant: The greatest Barcelona team was one I enjoyed watching when they were down and pushing for goals, because then they showcased their offensive capabilities, but one I hated watching when they were leading, because then they wouldn't just not concede goals, they wouldn't even concede the ball, and I never felt like it was possible for the other team to reverse anything.
And it's funny, because you could change "barcelona" with "italy" and remove the "they wouldn't even concede the ball", and my sentence holds equally true for me, even though Barcelona and Italy are stylistically worlds apart.
Such naive footballing from Southampton today. They've made 10-men Man City look better than the full line-up.
I wonder why Mourinho insists so much on playing without any squad rotation. His players didn't even have too much distance to cover against Schalke on Tuesday and yesterday, they looked like they were on their last legs once the game went past 70th minute. Did he schedule the rest day for the game against Sporting CP?
Several weeks ago I saw the question from a Bayern fan why Dortmund wasn't trying to play with 3 defenders a bit like them. Right now it sounds stupid but I would totally try it. Subotic and Ginter do not work together and if there was only one of them he would atleast know what his place is. It can't get worse in our defense.
