I almost feel like, in scenarios like that, it should be possible to change players without it counting as a change. Because that's dangerous, life threatening at times. The team shouldn't be punished for it by having to make a change, and they'll always be opting to keep the player on if possible at all because otherwise they're "wasting" a change. That shouldn't be the case. I'm inclined to agree. I would like a system of one 'free' injury sub. Players' wellbeing shouldn't be second to tactics. You could have a retrospective punishment if they fake it to grant another sub or something. Like a 3 game ban. How long before every game you have players faking head injuries? My money is on 2nd game
Yeah, I guess. But players want to play, not fake injuries to get subbed off. They fake injuries to get opponents in trouble. The threat of a ban would be enough to deter it.
And/or you could have an independent physician to confirm injuries or something. Tied in with the 4th official.

Walking a fine line as soon as you bring forth the idea of automatic subs. I really can't see it happening. Would be so much faking and long stops in games as players go down. We've already seen teams perfect the art of time-wasting. Are we okay with opening the door for injury-faking to be even more effective?
We already have three subs. As it stands, I don't see a need to change that.

Looked like Alexis was having a go at Ozil there :/

ROFL Wenger hahaha just saw a gif of it on twitter.

One thing I do definitely advocate is an additional sub in extra time. So when cup ties go the whole 120 minutes, teams can use 4 subs instead of 3.

Do you guys think that introducing 4 subs would reduce the amount of injuries?

Not in a 90 minute game. We're just concerned when players play on with a potentially serious injury because the manager doesn't want to use a sub he didn't originally want to.

In injury time, definitely.

Ospina > Szczesny
I wonder when Wenger will see this.
|
Probably when Szczęsny get injured
|
welp, that could have ended up anywhere lol
ozil pretty non-existent this game. he's been losing balls all over
|
Really need to stop playing Özil against top teams. He's picked out and isolated from the team so easily, and he doesn't have the work-rate to run all over like Sanchez.
|
Schuerrle's execution lets him down. Right ideas, but he can't quite weight his passes perfectly yet.
|
It is frustrating as an oxlade chamberlain fan to see him play so well all the time and still be the first player to be dropped from the team while ozil is the exact opposite, playing horribly all the time and never being dropped.

Why he was preferred to Mata. You'd never see Mata throwing himself at a ball like that.

also not seeing much of costa. this game has been a midfield battle all around

Santi going off. This is unreal. Fuck everything.

Yuck, Cazorla off Ozil still on?
