It's not at all like the Boldin situation last year.
If you drafted Lynch, chances are he's your RB1 so you'd have to deal him for another RB (maybe plus a WR or something). Though, it also means you probably value health quite a bit more than your league mates. (Beast Mode missed one game in the last four seasons.) So why would you take a more injury prone RB at this point? Even if you're willing, which is logically inconsistent, I doubt the guys in your league would be willing to swap out RB1s week 1.

Sure, an intelligent owner would never do it, but people are often idiots when it comes to fantasy sports.

Lynch had a good night last night, but Green Bay's defense -- especially the run defense -- was atrocious. I think teams are going to be running over Green Bay all year long. Their D line just isn't good. Raji isn't what he used to be, but he still is better than what the Packers have to replace him.
EDIT: And God help us if the Seahawks actually have an elite O-line now, but historically, their O-line has been their "relative" weakness. I'd sooner chalk up their dominance last night to the Packers being bad than a dramatic improvement over last season. Let's see how they do against one of the better fronts.

Well. Seing as Denver Broncos got demolised even more than Green Bay did, I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that GB will be an easy match. Starting the season off @Seahawks.... yeah, not ending well.
Can't wait for Sunday. Please Eagles. Don't implode this year. I can't take it!

EDIT: And I think Dom Capers is clueless.

Ellington could be out for a while.

I think it's more that the Packers are just clueless when it comes to playing mobile qbs. I laugh every time Wilson or Kaepernick takes off running against them. The Packers defenders have this Mr. Bean look on their faces when the camera closes in on them.

Oh goodness, I took him in both my leagues. Big hit for that offense, which I thought was going to be super underrated this year.

Yeah I don't think many people doubted that when he's fit he's still an elite running back and clearly the main workhorse for the Seattle offense. It's just his longevity over the season that's a concern. He's had more carries than any running back in the last few years and most guys just can't handle that level of volume. Plus he's got Christine Michael waiting on the sidelines, who's supposedly rated quite highly in Seattle.
Maybe we'll be wrong though and he'll rush for 1200+ yards again this season and prove everyone wrong. I don't have him on my team, but I like Lynch so I'd be happy to seem him have another great season.

I also feel like the Packers defense just isn't a physical hard hitting one. Matthews and Peppers are speed rushers and Hawk is a decent inside Linebacker, but aside from Tramon Williams I feel like their secondary is pretty bad in the run game (how many tackles did Clinton-Dix miss last night?) also their Defensive tackles are pretty meh.

Don't understand why people are so down on Lynch. Has there been any indication that he's slowing down aside from just the number of carries he's had? Obviously he's at a higher risk to break, but until he does break then he's Lynch, plain and simple.
Frank Gore's been productive even when people keep doubting him every year, saying for the past two years that he was going to be overtaken by some other running back on the team (this year's no different). Until running backs actually stop being productive, I don't think people should just assume shit.
|
Gore was pretty worn down by the end of last year because he was used so heavily early on when the Niners had no receivers. Maybe the Niners will do a better job conserving him this time around. They certainly have an incentive to do so given how capable Hyde looks.

So if Ellington is really out maybe I'll get the chance to see if there's any real potential with my last round Dwyer pick
|
Just added Gordon in the case that he plays. Reports seem shaky but I'm hopeful.
|
I don't get the Lynch doubt at all. Gore's more understandable due to the extra wear and having a talented backup, but at worst I would imagine that drops to a 50-50 split.
|
God I hope Gordon doesn't come back. What an annoying little wrench to throw into the fantasy scene. Why doesn't the NFLPA care about the fantasy owners!?

Gordon is going to be retired at age 24 when he tests for everything under the sun next time around.

hahaha, pick him up in your leagues if he's available
It's looking more likely that he'll play this year.
