Whelp, completely garbage flag #1.

That looks like a dive to me.

He'd be fined 5K if this was the NBA.

They're on their way back into "good/great" division in the NFL. A few O line pieces and a couple more offensive weapons and they might not lose 31-17. Cam is going to continue to be a problem. He might be a major threat but he's just too volatile. The way the rest of the team is built, they really don't need a game changing QB who tries to do it all himself. It's true that Cam is no where near Luck or Wilson's maturity or quality, as a QB. However, I think he's a QB who will thrive when you give him the necessary help required. He had a couple pretty good throws that were dropped by receivers yesterday (3rd down Tolbert, long seam route to Olsen come to mind) to match his couple poor decisions. I am happy about the fact that he wasn't afraid to throw against Sherman (or anyone else for that matter)-- and it almost paid off with that beautifully thrown ball to Benjamin, right over Sherman's head; unfortunately, Benjamin could only get one foot down. Sure, Cam isn't a superstar QB, but he's more than enough to get the job done imo. If you deem him too big a problem, you then have to answer the "who can we get who's better?" question that teams like the Bengals and Bears find themselves in right now. Sure, many Bengal fans want Dalton out, but who is replacing him? A trade for an equally volatile Cutler? They have a late draft pick so drafting a "right now" QB is out of the question. Newton didn't have a statistically great game last night, but I thought that the pick 6 was the unfortunate product of only a couple bad decisions. I think he's in the second tier of QBs-- outside the tradtitional "top five" (Brady/Manning/Rodgers/Brees/Wilson?), but he's versatile and fearless enough to put him in the low-mid second tier. You have to remember he had ankle surgery in the offseason, rib injuries during the year and a major car crash less than a month ago. And a developing line to boot.
The Cam issue then, if you dont think he is top 5, and probably wont be, is he is not low-paid. Its the Stafford-Bradford problem (now known as the Dalton-Flacco dilemma) where you could build a really good team around the QB with flaws, but its nearly impossible given his salary.

Going to be interesting to see what the Panthers decide to pay Cam this offseason.
LOL that Fox is trying to sell this as the Ice Bowl 2 when this is some 50+ degrees warmer than the windchill of the original game.
Cowboys secondary playing better than expected. Rodgers is sitting in the pocket for fucking ever a few times now and not seeing anything.

Rodgers lack of mobility is making this pass rush effective on plays it just clearly shouldn't be. His protection is amazing but he can't move around to use it.
Buck keeps harping on him not 'taking off' but it's not even that, he isn't even rolling out or shifting around to avoid the rush. He's a statue right between the tackles.
|
He needs to throw it away then. His line is playing great but he's holding it for wayyyyyy too long and isn't feeling the pressure very well right now.
Welp, as expected the GB defense can't stop this offense.

What absolute garbage secondary play on that TD.

Somebody's got to make a play for GB.

Dallas gets ball to start second half, this is a must stop possession for GB.

Ya I just checked the drive charts and completely forgot that Dallas started with a quick 3 and out. I thought GB had started the game with that TD drive.

Absolutely agree with the sentiments about Rodgers. He clearly can't move and it's really hampering his effect.
EDIT: Can anyone explain the Rob Lowe commercials? They make no sense to me.

Lol the spots in this game have been horrible.
3rd and 1 with the best running game in the league. ONLY the Cowboys wouldn't run in that situation (might have been an audible, either way lol)
