Like, your boy Dalton, his fantasy points are 18,14,11,17,18,19,14,-3,21,11,11,26. Sure fantasy points aren't perfect, but they kinda show how you can put out decent performances fairly often, even when you are bad. I admit it was a stretch to include the Bengals there. Dalton is a mediocre QB who struggles against the rush but is decent when given protection. That's more mediocre than bad. Kaep has regressed mightily this year. Stafford has had a terrible stretch. I don't think the QB friendly rules are helping them as they are playing much worse than in years past. Stafford is being carried by a vastly improved defense. 49ers are mostly winning only low scoring games. They're just not looking competent in the vast majority of games.

The reason I would shrug off other explanations is because 5/6 the teams you listed dont have QBs on cheap or Rookie deals (or they have an injured QB who is paid well), so its not like those teams are saving huge cash on the QB position Seahawks-Style.

Cam Newton injured in a car accident. Another car was involved in the accident. Not enough news to know anything beyond Cam appeared ok and smiling. Was taken on a stretcher, but that may just be a precaution. Also, Johnny Manziel officially named starter against Bengals (not sure why they wouldn't keep the Bengals hanging and wait till later to announce this, but w/e). ![]()

Your team is already going to have media all over themselves asking who is starting. Now the media can fight with each other over whether he will be any good or not, is he ready, was it the right move... Removing the distraction from the players hopefully outweighs the potential advantage you get from waiting to announce it.

But until he proves himself I don' think any teams spends too much effort game planning around that. Also, since I know Cam is ok I heard this earlier: "Another Cam Newton drive ends in a turnover..."

True, but the Niners have (on paper at least) a nice collection of skill players on offense. They absolutely should be doing better. Also Cam has two transverse fractures in his back. It's pretty much the same thing that Romo had.

The Jets' quarterback situation has been comical for nearly a decade now, which is why hearing things like this from Geno Smith don't cause much of a stir anymore. Intentional colloquialism or poor editing staff? You decide!

It just occurred to me that the last time the Jets had a legit good qb was either Pennington or Testaverde. Yeesh.

Probably Boom in both PPR and Standard. Johnson and Bridgewater have a rough match up. Floyd is still ridiculously boom/bust (except without many booms) AZ RB situation is too volatile. Yeah, Indy is RBBC too but at least Boom and Trent have defined roles. Grice ran well, then Williams ran well. We don't know who Arians will go to and the offense is a mess anyways, plus Stepfan Taylor is there to vulture at the goal line.

I generally have an idea of my answer before I ask for advice and I agree with you. Herron's the easy choice, then it gets murky. I like Johnson just because I feel that he's lower variance than the other two guys. I'm avoiding the Cardinals.
