I don't understand how you're supposed to score on a team that has Pietrangelo, Bouwmeester, Vlasic and Weber on their blue line. It looks like the swedish coaching staff has their work cut out for them. Ah, you're probably right. I see an ok amount of Toronto games and he can make a play where he skates by the defence and gets a wrist shot from inside the blue but I think it rarely works. It's a rebound or face off at least though. Pavel Datsyuk on the other hand seems to have that magic touch where if you get it to him he can find the net. My idea of a goal scorer is someone who is a play-maker's bitch. He just always gets to the rough area, keeps his stick on the ice and finds the net. Patrick Elias? Johan Franzen? Anyways, I'm excited to see team Sweden. Always been a fan of their players and I think their weaknesses might turn out to be their strengths.

![]() Thought this was relevant ![]() Also I think the US relied to much on Kessel and Kane. They were double and sometimes triple shifting them both. By the third period neither had the spark they usually have. Cant win with one line.

I hate to say it but I agree, I want to like Healy but him talking before the Latvia game made me sick, and he was far from being right. I just try to tune him out now. I enjoy Hrudy's analysis however.

His retirement made me so sad. One of the greats who had short careers. Trading Lindros for him and a boatload of cash plus picks was the best trade ever made imo.

Interesting video, but let's strip away the hearts and flowers and candy kisses. Borje really seems like a 1st class guy. Let's get down to the bottom line, The Maple Leafs went farthest in the play offs the year Borje Salming was injured in 1978. For all his talent and flashy play, when it came down to it in the playoffs, Salming could not get the job done. I'd say, when it comes to NHL playoff hockey that Brian Glennie and Randy Carlyle were better defensemen than Borje Salming. Which is why the team did better without him.

Not like Sweden is a weak team - does anyone remember 1994 and 2002? That being said I think Canada is the favorite because the loses to Zetterberg and Sedin will be too much for the Swedes to overcome (also not picking Hedman) Not that i disagree, sweden is a strong team, but in 1994 there were no NHL players, and in 2002 Canada won.

So, its not fair that we as a nation love hockey more and have more star power depth? Canada is missing Stamkos and Tavares... No matter how you try and spin it those players are better than Zetterberg and Sedin, especially considering the stage in the fours respective careers.

They fired logo shots and inside the blue line shots at price all game. Besides the opening, the US never sustained long offensive pressure in canada's zone once. This was a total reversal of 2010 where the US put up a fight at least. One of the most impressive cdn performances ever. Sweden is my 2nd favourite team, but if canada plays like they did today, then sweden has no shot at winning. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/canada-humbled-team-usa-offensive-machine-olympic-win-215043454--nhl.html In 60 minutes, the Americans were transformed from a team that had utilized the larger ice surface in Sochi into one that looked offensively uncreative. You can count on one hand the number of quality chances the U.S. had against Carey Price; you can count on one finger the number of long passes that connected from their defensive zone to the attacking zone: Kevin Shattenkirk hitting Patrick Kane on a three-zone pass in the second period. 3. Nothing In Front Of Price Carey Price made 31 saves, but was quick to credit his defense for making many of them easy. “That defensive group in front of me played very well,” he said. “They’re very good at boxing guys out and let me have my eyes. Our forwards backchecked really hard tonight. I think that was the difference.” This really was the difference in the game. The Americans had amassed 20 goals in the tournament with speed, playing chip-and-chase against lesser foes. But Canada’s blue line wouldn’t allow them any time to set up a cycle, nor would they allow any time to set up in front of Price. “I think it was maybe a little too perimeter and not much traffic in front of their net,” said David Backes. “Kudos to them for keeping us to the outside, but we’ve got to find ways to get to the inside and make things happens. There was not enough of that tonight. As a result, we don’t get any goals and you can’t win when you don’t score.” No kidding. The Canadians simply didn’t allow the U.S. offense a sniff all night. The game was 1-0; the margin of victory felt much larger. “They managed the puck pretty well and played a real suffocating style of defense. We didn’t battle through it in quite the ways we needed to to have success. The result is no second and third chances that we’ve been scoring on earlier,” said Backes. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/5-things-learned-canada-win-over-u-210334850--nhl.html • Carey Price didn't need to work. The Americans entered Friday's semifinal game as with the most goals in the tournament. Yet, Canada kept the U.S. opportunities limited to the outside, denied them any sort of net front presence and didn't allow any rebound chances that could have led to goals. The power play setup (0-for-3) also failed to create any good scoring chances.

Total control all game. you're wrong USA Hockey is #1 ! you want proof? well Ellen De-Whatsherface told me so. and she is a hockey expert because she has her own TV show. so USA is coming off a Bronze in Turin 2006, and are the "gold medal favourites" according to our expert tv show host. this is truly epic theatre right here... WOW... they beat China and Russia, this pretty much proves they are going to win the gold medal in Vancouver. every one might as well just go home!
