Haha well that's what I mean. How can you expect any team in the top to perform consistently with these constant manager changes :p. Especially because they take their entire entourage with them every time and change the entire structure of the club. All these big clubs have all the money in the world but they are so ridiculously inefficient with it.

I don't agree. AVB had a better season in 2012-13 than Harry ever did at Spurs, but Arsenal somehow clawed their way to 73 points and took 4th. Again, if Harry had his way, Bale would have been dealt along with cash for Stewart Downing in 2009.

Harry earned Champions League football, we just gipped him out of it by winning it v Bayern. AVB finished short of CL football. He also took charge of a team that was gelling and coming to a boil. Harry was moving it forwards at a great pace, and Bale progressed magnificently. AVB just sat back and allowed Harry's machine to run. Then, when it came to putting together a team of his own, he was like a kid in a candy store with that 100m. And I do mean a candy store. Instead of going to a butchers, buying some meat for the team, strengthening a flagging defence, bringing in some experience or stability, he ran into the candy shop and bought the expensive midfield treats. Then he sat, slumped against the shop wall, sick from too much sugar, and wondered why his completely unbalanced team with no defensive plan and no attacking identity (which Harry worked so hard to carve out) was getting mauled mercilessly by Liverpool.

Sorry, how did AVB sit back and allow Harry's machine to run? Harry's "machine" was built around the amazing midfield pairing of Huddlestone and Modric, neither of whom he signed. Modric was sold (and Levy fucked up the Moutinho transfer to replace him) and Huddlestone came back from his long-term injury overweight and unmotivated. Levy also sold Van der Vaart and replaced him with Clint Dempsey. You clearly don't follow Spurs too closely if you think Harry and AVB's squads were anything alike. Secondly, AVB didn't make the summer signings. Franco Baldini took care of that and it's being widely reported that AVB didn't want most of the new players, especially Lamela. The board also lied to him by guaranteeing that Bale was not for sale at any price. AVB's team got to 72 points last season, more than Harry ever managed. They finished 5th because Arsenal had an incredible turnaround after the home embarrassment vs. Bayern, and went undefeated over the last 3 months of the season. Harry's 2011-12 collapse was much, much worse. Arsenal gifted us 3rd place with their own collapse (3 pts in 4 games heading into the final matchday, incl. a home loss to Wigan) and Harry gave it right back by losing to QPR and drawing at Villa in one of the worst Spurs performances I've ever seen. He was too busy courting the England job and fighting tax evasion charges to care about his employer. He also publicly defied Levy multiple times, and ultimately his big mouth had more to do with his sacking than anything else.

This really is Liverpool's year. It's in Dutch but it's awesome. A kid with IBS gets to meet his idols, train with the Ajax team, and even walk on the pitch and participate in warmups with them in the Amsterdam ArenA before the game against NAC Breda earlier this month.

I guess some said that they would end up hurting some from losing Bale and probably wouldn't have as good of a season this year, but it's not like it was possible to hold on to Bale after being offered whatever obscene number it was. Seems unfair to fault AVB for the failure of the new signings when mostly everyone were in agreement that they were good. Hes a victim of the hindsight is 20/20 rule which is particularly severe in football. Except in this case even in hindsight its not to much his fault..

Anyway do we have croatians here that can give us some additional insight? Well nothing much to add. Since it's fascist salute he got ass raped by fifa ( not surprising tbh) and so now he will miss WC and probably retire very soon since he'll be 36 in february. If there's anything unclear let me know.

As for now there's nothing clear about Gattuso, they're just investigating on a Milan - Lazio and some messages between him and Brocchi (Lazio player at the time)

I have been saying that they made poor transfer business this window all along and have been vindicated :D. In a league where it's a clear statistic that clean sheets are more valuable than goals (you need an average of 2 goals to win a game, one clean sheet requires only 1 goal to win), the idea of selling one of your most promising defenders in Steven Caulker and getting another shed load of midfield players is INSANE. Because it sounds like I watched more Tottenham in the last 3 years than you. Which is weird because I support Chelsea!!! Harry's Tottenham played spectacularly better football than AVB's, which was always confused, disjointed and relied on being 'Bale'd out on several occasions. The wing play, the defensive organisation, etc, were all far superior. Just infinitely better looking team. Yes they collapsed but they were looking fantastic and it's really a bad stroke of luck (but they STILL could have made it into Europe). AVB's team this year has just been a complete embarrassment.

Yes I am, and I already said a few pages back that AVB deserved to get fired for his poor tactics. In fact, I don't think he deserved the job in the first place. However, you're blaming him for things totally outside his control and distorting the truth. The transfer market has nothing to do with AVB; he was the head coach and nothing more.

Yeah you did, so whoever hired him, needs to get sacked alongside Baldini.
