Van Persie who went completely missing for almost the entire second half of last season? Rooney has carried United ever since Ronaldo's departure.

RvP's like mario gomez with 10x the finesse. But most valuable, meh, don't really know.

BTW, it's 0:0 half-time, but BvB keeps pressing hard.

Guy has decent decison-making and spot-on long pass, the only thing is that he perhaps does not work as hard as the best CMs in the world and his positioning might be a little off sometimes. But today, he doesn't really look in any way inferior to Gundogan, who is reportedly in excellent shape and was linked with Barcelona this summer. BTW, it's 0:0 half-time, but BvB keeps pressing hard. Sahin was imba in 2010/11. Then he lost it at Real & Liverpool played him out of position (or he didn't fit, idk didn't watch him there). Now he is regaining his form. Still not at 2010/11-lvl though.

But it's hard to pick Rooney or RVP out as "better" than the other. They're just different, and probably equally valuable.

Lol.. There are two kinds of players, there players who score lots of goals. Even fucking Kevin Phillips scored lots of goals, Hasselbank scored lots of goals. then theres players who score goals that win games. RVP scores goals and he wins games, he makes plenty of space for himself, he doesnt have pace but his movement off the ball is so high IQ, and dat first touch and left foot.. its the ability to create goals out of nothing. Mario Gomez is good at missing sitters, big difference. As for RVP going missing the second half of the season, as someone mentioned, I disagree You just noticed how valuable he was in the first half because United as a team were not playing very well and he carried them in games they perhaps shouldnt have won. Note only Bale scored more match winning goals last season. Now when the team as a whole is playing well then it may look like it but his general form was pretty solid all year. Just look at the fantasy points. It doesnt really matter what Rooney did or didnt do. Hes a great player sure and certainly Uniteds best player for a while but as is now, there are tangibles that you cant ignore when it comes to comparing the two in terms of value to club itself (since that is what we are talking about). Intangibles while important in most cases just dont add up sometimes.

Well, not at greater lenghts than any other poachers do. When did you last saw him working his way up the defence like, lets say, messi. His biggest weapon is his ability to finish from every conceivable angle which although a very good skill toi have, only further establishes his role as a poacher. To make things clear, every striker that can't pick up the ball from their side to either organise the game or make a play for themselves, I consider a poacher.

So basically your saying theres only like half a dozen (if that) non-poacher strikers on the planet. I'm not even going to try and argue against this logic.. + Show Spoiler + and his biggest weapon is his first touch in my opinion, although his finishing is perhaps equally as valuable, lots of top strikers can finish not all of them have that touch.

Most of them (like Chicharito - who actually scored more goals per minute last season than RVP or Rooney) are good at getting open in the box but have no dribbling or passing skills. Some of the shit RVP does at the top of the box with defenders on him... ![]()
