edit: plus apparently they just re-signed Manu for a ridiculous 2 year, 14 million contract so just forget about it. The Spurs are going to be exactly the same team, minus whoever gets injured (and maybe plus Baynes? I'd like to see him play this year).

I didn't know the Grizz traded for Kosta Koufus on draft day? Good pickup.

@Kosta Koufos pickup- while he's a good big man it doesn't address the Grizzlies' biggest need, floor spacing. I don't think that's going to help them get much farther in the playoffs, the fact remains that every team can simply sag off one of their guards/wings at all times and keep the paint clogged. They really needed to go after one of the 3pt shooters that were FAs this season, the Dunleavys, Korvers, Redicks, etc.

Annoyed too that the Lakers FO didn't even try to give him a good offer. Bright spot of an otherwise miserable season and they just let him walk.

@dystopia: ya I agree with all that, but Darell Arthur and the new guy they traded would not have helped them in that area. And Koufus is a better backup center/pf than Arthur at a better price going forward. They do need some shooters though, but was mostly just speaking on that specific transaction.

Bulls tryna offer Nate Robb a min contract. It's literally all we can offer him. I'd love for him to stay for much less than he knows he deserves but I like him enough as a player that I almost don't want him to take it and get what he deserves. Also why the fuck would you offer Al Jeff more money than Horford or Noah? That's insane.

And spurs replacing Neal with Belinelli. They weren't going to be able to match offer for him and worked quickly.

Bright spot of an otherwise miserable season and they just let him walk. They didn't give him a good offer because they don't have an infinite amount of money. $4.5/year for Clark is pretty decent assuming last season wasn't a fluke and he'll keep improving, but LA doesn't have any room, and they literally can't commit to spending a dime until they know what Dwight is doing. They have 8 players under contract right now and they're about $6 million over the cap. With Dwight they'll be almost $30 million over the cap AND still need to sign 6-7 more players. $4.5 million for Earl Clark would end up costing them way way more, so they have to think very hard about every signing at this point. They still have an amnesty and it's very likely going to be used on Artest. I would have liked to see Earl Clark back for LA, but Jordan Hill is pretty similar in terms of his skillset, although Clark has a slightly longer range and the ability to play the 3.. they're not that different though. I would have loved Bellineli to LA though, he's only making ~$2.5 million per year. It's pretty insane the amount of talent the Spurs convince to join their team on really limited funding. I'm really scared hearing rumors of LA signing Kenyon Martin though, seriously do they understand that they need to stop signing people who are 33-34+? #_#

2013-2014 is going to be something of a throaway year for LA I think. While they could amnesty Artest and try to flip Gasol into some assets, its just way more likely that they do nothing and wait a year. The current Laker lineup isn't terrible. Assuming they're healthy, they can easily make the playoffs, and I think they may be sneaky good if Kobe comes back full strength and Dwight isn't a shell of his former self. All the old fucks on LA have some gas in the tank for one more run I think, kinda like KG and Pierce. D'antoni needs to just manage minutes better.
