It looks to be a fantastic season based on what we've seen so far. The cars are all close overall but have their different strengths and weaknesses. So far though I would say Alonso should be the favourite with Vettel second; needing to show that Red Bull have what it takes to translate good grid position into race wins, and not go backwards.

Yeah I can see the Ferrari currently being strongest with an Infiniti close behind. The Lotus pace probably was also caused by the comparitively low track temperatures, which we might and probably will see a couple of times more this season; the Lotus was and still is a jack-of-all-trades, and a pretty good one at that. The Infiniti will surely make up the tiny small gap in race pace to Ferrari, if there even is one, throughout the season through upgrades. It's gonna be an exciting season. I liked the race.

Why are you referring to RedBull as Infiniti? I know they're title partners now but still it just reads weird!

Lotus is actually better with high track temperatures just as it was last season as well. So you can expect Lotus to be even better in Malesia.

Well, it's not a Genii Capital who won today, it was a Lotus. So it wasn't a Red Bull who finished 3rd today, it was an Infiniti.

That doesn't make any sense. The Lotus team name is "Lotus F1 Team", there's no mention of Genii.
By your logic: 1st place: Lotus 2nd place: Scuderia 3rd place: Infiniti 5th place: Vodafone 7th place: Sahara!

No one cares about Qualifiyings lol!
Alonso #2, Massa #4 /END But obviously Massa is better than Vettel and Webber, but not even close to Nando.

1. Lotus is the team name, so legit. 2. Scuderia means "stable" as in a horse house, and is a part of the original name. Ferrari is at time refered to as "The Scuderia" 3. Infinty is the title sponsor. 5. Vodafone is the title sponsor. 7. Sahara is a part owner of Force India. You might as well call them Kingfisher (Probably a bad idea atm)
Formula 1 teams are usually named with sponsor-team name. Like AT&T Williams, West McLaren, etc.

Lol what, Massa outpaced by .003 seconds, basically nothing. He also did his flying lap after Alonso when track conditions were improved. As for the race it was clear that Massa was holding up Alonso during the early stages of the race. Also on their second stint on the Mediums, despite Massa getting on the Tyres later than Alonso, Alonso was pulling away from Vettel while Massa couldn't catch Vettel. Not saying Massa had a bad race, far from that, but Alonso was the better driver. You could say that Ferrari screwed over Massa by pulling him and not letting him go for a 2 stop, but it was clear that the tyre deg. on Massa was too severe for him to put up consistent lap times, so I think Ferrari made the right call. I guess you could argue that Ferrari should have stuck with the strategy and pulled Massa in right away, but hindsight is 20/20.
Overall awesome race. Real happy the kimster won the race, looking forward to what the boys in Enstone have in store.

McLaren sticking with 2013 car: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/106141
Almost seems like they've gone back to the Ron-era, where all they did were looking at performance and thus ended up with something that was a rocket ship but lacked in other areas.

I know that Red Bull and especially Marko was offended when the british anthem was played after their first race win.

No diagreement from me, I would never expect anyone to understand me if I told them Vodafone just won the British GP.

I don't like the decision. I think they should sack the season, switch back to the 2012 and do some minimal development and put the majority of the focus of the factory on 2014. Idk that's just me.

Sacking a season after losing a future hall of fame driver wouldn't look to good for their investors I feel. They have to look competitive and I don't see that happening if you scrap a car when you only had one race with it. After a few races you might be able to get something out of it.

Regardless of who owns the team they are all English. Mercedes are not considered American for example.
As for McLaren, there is not a chance they will ever "sack a season". They exist to win GP, first and foremost, and while you may not agree with the ideology it won't change. Personally I like it.

After only one race, I think this would be premature. They should stick with it at least until the european races, if not the half-way point of the season and than see where they are standing and make the desicion to stick with it or switch back. Ferrari struggeld in the first half of last season, but they bounced back. Since Alonso ist driver that is capable to drive a car fast that does not have optimal balance and the circumstances helped him, he still performed well. But Massa was way off that pace and fighting in the mid field. After they understood the new suspension completly, Massa perfomed better. Since the McLaren Drivers don't have the same quality as Alonso (Perez ist too inexperieced and Button needs a good setup), they will probably struggle in the next races as well.
