Kings score at 21% on the season...so they need to give them 4 more so they can get that sure goal. or however stats work. on the whole, i like torts.... but that man hasnt had a good pp since hes been here. shit i think the last time we had a good pp was when jags put up 128. even then, i think it was just ok. im still torn on wtf to do now. i think for half of this season season, torts did not have a team that matched his playstyle. he had a talent heavy top six that didnt really mesh well with his hit and block everythign philosophy. he also had to deal with less than ideal rosters every year but last year, which is why i still dont get why that was blown the fuck up. still, torts just does not fucking adapt at all. the b's are locking down the blue line, making the rangers dump more than usual, and the b's defenders are fast enough to chop that up. the rangers cant carry the blueline for shit even without pressure. then they dont do anything but wall cycle, float a no look pass out front and whiff on it, or go to the point and put a relatively harmless shot on net. i dont know. i honestly dont think theres really a better coach out there now, but torts really deserves some heat for failing to adapt. slats deservs a bunch too for fucking nuking a team that was a win away from the finals. also, whoever asked why slats is still here is because hank bough him enough good will that he can weather several bad storms. he drafted an all time great goalie in the 7th or something? this year not withstanding, he did build that ecf team, which had a lot of homegrown talent that matured at the right time. but he blew it up this year... and he honestly shoulda never got to that point in the first place imo. he came on in 99 i think. they were awful til post lockout, and that was a jags/hank team. every single team that has gotten to the playoffs has been bouyed by hank since. most of htose clubs were mediocre but backed by him. thats enough for a low seed, which is where the rangers have beeen every year but last year | ||
