Well, that is only half true. You can be like the Wild and just lie down and die. That is the other option. Having watched the Wings for so long, it's still jarring to realize that they're actually one of the younger teams in the playoffs, and thus have to play a style completely different from the years before. Luckily, it seems to be working out so far, if only because a lot of the Wings' rookies were already ready for the NHL at least a year ago, if a bit unpolished. Babcock is just a great coach.

Anyway, up until that Kane goal, the Wings looked like they were in total control and then the Hawks woke up while the Wings started chasing the play. So far at least it seemed like the tale of one team going to sleep and the other one dominating. Only the first period of the third game I'd say objectively both teams were actively participating and it ended with a fair 0-0.
But whatever, Howard and the weaker Red Wings team makes up for all those bullshit loses they had in the 2000's when they were icing all star teams and losing to the oilers/flames/other trash teams in the playoffs. That Oiler team was pretty damn good they traded alot of furture for some players to make that run.. They had the balls to play the neutral zone trap against one of the best teams Detriot ever assembled and outplay them like that. Then got another 11 wins on top of the 4 vs detriot playing games like the wings wanted too. If Marc Andre Bergeron didn't knock Brindamore into Rolosons leg in game 1 of the cup final we probably sweep or at least definatley beat the hurricanes. The Jason Smith/Ty Conklin own goal in game 2 didn't help either. that team wouldnt have been nearly as good without pronger. that was around the peak of his career

Wow. I knew Healy was incompetent but thats just down right embarrasing.
The Sportsnet guys that do oiler and flames games are pretty good. And the NBC crew seems good too.
edit: those Datsyuk highlight reels are crazy. It's quite unfair acctually lol

I could watch these Datsyuk highlight reels for days.

They were so close to getting it done, I think they went through the Sharks and the Ducks after the Wings and then lost to the fucking Carolina Hurricanes :/ That dirty Canes injured so many key players in the East to get to the finals and then Roloson, who was on such a heater, was taken out Oilers still took them to 7 games, but the SC was definitely in the bag had Roloson not been injured.

Oh, look. The hilariously inept Rangers offense scored.

King Henrik is on point tonight.

despite being a goal up, the rangers offense looks about as pathetic as i expected it to. taking shots at rask from 50 ft with no one blocking his vision, whats the point of that? pathetic.
Ah, bruins scored on a ridiculous fuck up. The Rangers really look awful and I have to imagine without Lundquist they would have never made these playoffs. Another successful "Sather" style hockey team, overpay for guys who are great -- according to video game stats -- and then hang on to 1 goal leads thanks to your only true super star, Lundquist. Its a shame he will never win a Cup.

I guess high sticking is legal in tonights game, soo much blood, so few penalties

Well my crucible for tonight is about to begin. I need to make sure that I am stocked up with plenty of booze for these Sharks playoff games.

lololololol the Rangers are pathetic. O well Gary, maybe when the Islanders move to Brooklyn youll get your Big Market mega team that knows how to play hockey. Or maybe by then Sather will finally retire and they can get someone in there who knows how to build a team.

Why does he still have a job?

#30 Hendrik Lundqvist

Wow lundqvist finally plays like he is supposed to, and the rangers still manage to suck. I'm just starting to feel bad for rangers fans, and I hate it.

Why does he still have a job? I honestly have no idea, easily one of the worst GMs. I guess making 'the brave' decision to draft Gretzky somehow makes him immune for all criticism. At least Lou in NJ occasionally gets his team into the SCF, despite on paper the team that was there last year being one of the weakest teams in history.

Hero super star Rick Nash really is showing his presence in this series, totally was worth trading half the team for him and then getting rid of Gaborik too.
