the bigger ice surface in the KHL makes for a better game and the players know it better than any "fan". great salary cap circumvention by the Devils. where is that guy that said Phoenix leaving was a "sure thing" LOL.

This is what you get by locking players out and giving them a taste of other options. every european player has to deal with the same issues tho.. im sure all of them would like to be with their family and play in their home country but there has to be some sort of accountability when you sign a contract with a team. both NJ and kovi made a commitment to each other and now hes backing out of it now after NJ gave up a shitload of assets for him 1) he announced his retirement after free agency was over 2) NJ passed up on horvat (1st line potential) to get schnieder 3) they lost their 2014-2015 1st rounder in the kovalchuk acquisition 4) he made it impossible for NJ to sign re-parise/clarkson due to cap issues all in all its a pretty douchebag move imo

Otherwise, Lou continues to be an the Emperor Palpatine of the league. On one hand, clearly brilliant. On the other hand, really weird decisions sometimes that leave the Empire extremely vulnerable. Especially now that the moister farmers got off long island arent just doing t-41 runs against wampas.

i don't blame the guy. he gets to go home. he can play in the Olympics. he gave NJ 100% when he did play for them. he gets to play on a larger ice surface. NJ and other teams realize how dangerous these super long term contracts are.
