Well, he is really good friends with a few players on their roster, so I'm not surprised he would want to get a chance to play with them meh. I think they have as good a shot as Ottawa to be honest. Look forward to seeing him in the Winter Classic and this is a great way for us to renew our rivalry with Detroit. =) On July 06 2013 00:55 JimmiC wrote: Bos trade was smart in the short term because Erikson is hugely underated. You now have 2 of the top 4 2 way forwards in league on one team, and they are on you "second line". Chara is such a force that you need to maximize your windown while he is there. And currently Erikson is much better then Seguin, in 5 years when Seguin is better hopefully you have 2 cups. And hopefully the 1-2 of the prospects you have picked up turned out. Bos has done a great job of maximizing there assests and not over paying in free agency. I see that trend continuing. Most important Bruins are Chara, Bergeron, Kriegi, Lucic, Boychuck, Rask, Siedenberg, Marchant. And they kept all of them. Horton is a good player but injury prone. You can't keep everyone so trading seguin for a immediate upgrade, long term potential and salary savings was a good move. I don't think it's going to take Seguin five years to do that. Dallas is already going to put him in the limelight; whereas, he couldn't flourish with the minutes he was getting in Boston because he was playing behind two great players. ~_~

I bet most of us would treat Alfie a cup, but why chose Detroit for your last year? If both teams were to stay healthy next season I think Sens and Red Wings would be pretty even teams. well well

dont get me wrong, i love eriksson, and i fully agree with your comments about him fitting that team far better based on his abilities, but i just think that even with the salary difference (eriksson is on a goddamn steal of a deal) dallas should have put in more stuff. the guys they gave back arent exactly high level prospects. alfie makes no sense. i could see wanting to be with all his swede buddies, but as far as being a contender, I really dont think theyre any better than ottawa. I might even say ottawa is in better position actually. ive really been impressed the past two years someone also needs to mercy kill homer. razor and mason is not what you want to be going into the season with good grief. and i like razor, but he is old, he is not a starter, he has wonky hips. if this were mid 00s, razor, mason and lecavilier might actually look good!

leafs are gonna be interesting to watch. soem interesting pieces, bogged down by awful management and a dumb ass coach. bozak and bolland are the same type of third line player. i just do not get that shit at all.

Horton going to Columbus, good for them, in one year they turned around and became a respectable team on paper. edited stuff: but turns out he will be out until at least December because of a shoulder injury. Now I dont know, this is another major injury the guy sustained and will make him even less likely to get in close/battle in the corners which is what he is supposed to do. they already have an overpaid perimeter in Grabovski. Clowe getting a ridiculous deal out of NJD, once again makes me wonder about Lou. On one hand he robs the Canucks blind, on the other hand he commits so much cash to someone as slow and irrelevant as Clowe. Surprised that Emory took so little to sign with the Flyers.

Agreed on the Clowe deal, and that's really weird that it came from Lou. He does boneheaded fa signings at time (see: Volchenkov, who'd still be useful if he wasnt paid twice as high as he should be). In a world without injuries, Clowe would fit right in though. I like getting Horton in theory for CBJ, and I like the price, but 7 years for someone on the latter side of his prime with injury concerns, particularly concussions, isnt that smart. CBJ cant really be picky though, and I do think they had to roll the dice here. If he holds up though, I do like tht move a lot. Look at their forward group, and how theyre backed by a goalie who at least appears to be ver ygood. Theyve got a similar feel to the B's now. Physical group, a couple finese guys in there with gabby and anisimov. they have potential to be a surprise in the new patrick, i think. also, it needs to be stated, but tor is on the cusp of signing bozak and clarkson to big money. so they basically axed grabs, who is a better all around player, and MacArthur, to overpay third line superstar bozak to more money than grabs, and to overpay out hte nose for clarkson, who is very similar to macarthur, who signed for $3.25. And they havent addressed the defense at all, which was the weak spot, not the goalie play, or the offense that has finished in the top ten two years in a row now. The leafs are a fringe playoff team that would have trouble getting in next year, but theyre making moves like they just won the up and have the luxury of doing these thigns. makes no sense

He was outscored by kadri, who got nearly 5 min less and less pp time. Grabs got even less, and still was onl like 10 pts off his pace. Bozak played almost exclusively with kessel, who is goofy as fuck, floaty etc, but still a 40 goal guy. also Corey Pronman @coreypronman 23s Toronto was a bottom 3 posession team last year, lost two of it's best posession forwards and retained one of it's worst for 5 years. both those deals are positively awful haha. what the fuck is nonis doing ![]()
