boston easily won that deal, chiarelli is hands down the best gm in the nhl. they cleared up ALOT of cap room and got eriksson (one of the most underrated winger's in the nhl), j. morrow (future top 2 d-man), fraser (i fucking love this kid, he does everything and has untapped offencive upside. think clarkson but w/ more talent) and smith (this is going to be a hit miss, hes either going to be a good top 6 forward or a bust) in return

I hope we sign alfredsson we have about 4.5 million in cap space.

Eriksson is basically Bergeron 2.0. Chiarelli is the best GM hands down too bad the award always goes to the one who makes the flashy trades at the trade deadline. But he still can't draft for shit.

Um, pretty sure he's going to stay with the Sens.

I still think Tyler has more upside to him as he matures huehuehue. We'll have to wait and see how this pans out.

eriksson is a left winger, an he's never going to score 40 goals in dallas with their centers, but in boston it's possible i'd read this season that seguin was very unhappy playing wing in boston, an wanted to play center, but that just wasn't going to happen in boston this is a great deal for both teams an seguin is a #1 center in the nhl an he's going to prove it this year
|
Boston won that trade hands down.
Seguin is a bust and even if he might get more playtime in Dallas, he won't rise to his original potential (one of a second overall pick)
Fucking hope Bergevin wont sign Briere or ill be pissed.

gm's dont really have alot to do with the draft tbh, they only follow the high profile players.. the scouting department takes care of the meat and potatoes(ro2 onwards) of the draft. also eriksson is a winger : D

Seguin's maturity is something that can take time to develop as of right now were a win now team. With Chara and Sedeinberg getting old we don't have time for Seguin to grow up.

Do you even know what type of player he is? He's basically a Bergeron 2.0. Playoffs is all about winning faceoffs and playing defensively.
And Eriksson was what, like 25% at face-offs last season? Yeah, there's your face-off stud right there!
To me, it isn't a question about who is the best player moving during this trade (it's Seguin, without a doubt - he's already great at hockey and he's 21) - it's more about whether Seguin's career will be affected by his degenerative hip condition and whether or not this factored into the Bruins' decision to trade him. There has to be another factor in play because there is rarely ever a good reason to trade a guy just into his 20s who is already a top-end talent in the league.
It seems ridiculous that anyone would call this a clear win for Dallas.
edit: Holy shit, people are calling Seguin a bust? He's played 2.5 seasons. What the shit?
2010-2011 P/60: 1.44 2011-2012 P/60: 2.69 2012-2013 P/60: 2.27
That P/60 number from this season puts him alongside guys like Tavares, Sedin, and Ovechkin. Those are decent players right? Or are they also busts?

you cant really say hes a bust after he got 67 pts in his sophomore year.. theres been alot of rumors that he has off-ice issues tho. seguin is a good player but this was a win for boston based on what they got back and the salary dump they got from trading peverly

that deal gives boston the wiggle room to resign rask, like i said before, great deal for both teams

i pray to god we dont sign briere

http://www.csnne.com/blog/bruins-talk/source-seguin-peverley-traded-stars
According to sources around the team, Seguin was out late in Toronto during the road trip to play the Leafs in the first round of the playoffs and the team had to hold a sit-down with the immature forward about his commitment to the team. Seguin showed up each day at the Air Canada Centre wearing the same clothes for three straight days and played badly in Games 3 and 4 of the first round against Toronto.
That incident coupled with stories of Seguin’s late night partying during the regular season prompted Peter Chiarelli to say that “[Seguin] needs to become more of a professional” during a tirade at draft weekend. The Bruins attempted to deal Seguin to the Calgary Flames last weekend, but ultimately Flames ownership squashed any deals for the six-year, $5.75 million contract for Seguin while they go through a full rebuild with inexpensive, youthful players.

I hope you guys realize guys like Subban are just as rowdy as him. I've seen it first hand. The kid's barely twenty and the younglings will always make mistakes like Staal and Kane. I cannot wait to see what happens when he hits his prime. Give it a few years and I'm sure he'll tone down his partying antics.

didn't philly trade richards an carter b/c they liked to party? then LA ended up with both of them an won a cup.. maybe that's not a good reason to trade star players? maybe

sorry TT1 The Montreal Canadiens have agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent forward Daniel Briere on a two-year, $8 million contract. tsn.ca/nhl
