Well I ask about the protein thing because I like to know that I'm not being misled... it seems universally agreed upon that the 1-2g/kg level is perfectly adequate...

I'm totally happy to agree to disagree about nutrition... Amusingly (and this has no bearing on the previous vegan discussion) the guy who runs the local bodybuilding store (they sell supplements, equipment etc) is a vegan and has been for 2 years. He claims that his training has been unaffected (he also says that he thinks his recovery time is decreased but also admits that it might just be subjective to his feelings).

and just for eshlow + Show Spoiler +
I think that trying to prove or disprove a point based on evolutionary pressures is a bit crazy because the same pressures that apply historically do not apply now... the vegetarian diet would have been impossible outside of modern times because it is only now that we have access to the variety of nutrition to make a vegetarian diet possible

oh and some buddhist groups are totally vegetarian (and always have been)

Being vegan doesn't mean you cannot work out proper, it just means that besides being vegan and already focusing on nutrition, you have to put even more time into it. Vegan/vegetarian lifestyle does in no way not work with bodybuilding, especially since vegetarian meals are often higher in carbs.

Did 110kgx3x5 squats. Dropped down 10kg, and going to come back up 5 kg at a time I think. My technique was far from optimal, so I figured I'd go to a weight I can barely manage with decent form for all reps.
also 45kg x3x5 OHP. It has been progressing really nicely lately.
I did the unthinkable and modified my SS training a little bit... Basically added an additional, 3x8 fast benchpress with lower weights and less rest on OHP days in hopes to progress a bit faster on bench. 65kg x 4/4/2 on bench last time, and I havent made too good progress with it I feel compared to squats etc

83.5kg bw

Since your SS is very similar to my SL I used I would give you 2 suggestions: Do 5x5 SL instead of 3x5 SS, because 3x5 is more advanced and allows for a lot more weigth, yet I doubt that you are that far into your progress that its neccessary (ofcourse still your choice and nothing wrong, just think SL would help you improve on a more steady rate) and the second one would be

Either of those is very short-term for the muscles, after all main sets, power out until you can't move. Drop to 50% or 30% of the weigth and do as many reps as you can. Helped me greatly and gives good pump

During showering after my workout yesterday, a guy approached me to ask me what I did for my legs. Kind of interesting when someone is complementing your legs for two minutes straight while you're standing naked next to each other, haha.
And obviously my answer was Squats and Deadlifts, he took it reasonably well.

interesting study about meal timing.
Late lunch eaters lost less weight and displayed a slower weight-loss rate during the 20 weeks of treatment than early eaters (P=0.002).

More awkward is the use of "complementing" instead of "complimenting".

It was a joke, he was making a portmanteau of "complimenting" and "cementing".

Well, the issue is, complementing is also a word. And my imagination starts running wild when someone says someone was taking all this time to complement their legs in the shower. Think fanfic.

I know. I actually blame the language in this case. A single letter off shouldn't be capable of changing a sentence from innocent to innuendo so quickly.

I wouldn't worry about it Malinor, it's a very common error for English speakers. It was amusing

Makes me sad I haven't deadlifted or squatted in quite some time

Also, eshlow i felt a sharp pain where the shoulder connects in between the tricep/bicep while unloading some weights. felt it again pretty sharply when i missed a 125 snatch. Felt okay when i did a bunch of rolling with a lacrosse ball and clean and jerks went okay but i can still feel it a little bit

Also to eshlow/sjarl/other medical field people
I've been unusually itchy for the past week or so (maybe longer) The main culprit is the back/inside of my thighs and my butt, but i've also been more itchy everywhere else(chest/arms/back) in general. I dont have any rashes or bite marks. My gf is also experiencing itchyness as well. We sometimes sleep with her puppy so i dont know if it was that? Also the dog at my friends house where i spend a lot of time has been super scratchy for a long time, that might be related but i havent heard of any of the roommates having any problems. I haven't started using a different soap or detergent or anything like that and i cleaned all my clothes and bedsheets. Super fucking annoying. Help

Being itchy could have a thousand reasons. If it really bothers you go and see a doctor. I would suggest either do an allergics test or go see a skin doc. Getting a good diagnosis over the internet with the single fact that you feel itchy is not going to help. Especially without any visible marks, bites etc

I'm assuming its not just winter dryness right? Back of my legs and my triceps and shoulders always get itchy before I go to bed (usually after a hot shower which doesn't help). I usually can't fall asleep without putting lotion on my arms. Might be too obvious but thought I'd chip in >.>
