Fly to Iceland and see sJarl? The student health center would give me a referral to see a PT, ortho, or chiro if I asked them, but again I wouldn't be able to afford the deductible before my insurance started covering any of the three of them. Just gonna keep doing what I'm doing - the major source of the pain is the foam rolling, which I'm assuming is a spasm from my various hip muscles after being loosened up. If I keep working on it, that will hopefully go away eventually. I was in a similar boat dude, I was putting off going to the PT for my knee and hip issues, and I thought that foam rolling would push me through it. I was wrong. PT did way more than foam rolling alone ever did. I did have an excellent PT however, and that certainly plays a role in how effective the rehab is. I know for certain that I've got an SI and (I think also) a pirriformis problem. I know I should go to a PT. Unfortunately I'm a college student, and I typically struggle to buy enough groceries to maintain my weight, let alone gain it. An additional 40-60 dollars per visit until my deductible (couple hundred bucks) is covered would mean I either don't eat or can't pay my rent. Someday, when I have a real job =/. Well I've got the exercises my PT gave to me if you ever want some free stuff to do in the meantime My problem ended up being almost entirely due to the sinking of my right sacroiliac.

I'm keenly interested as well. I've been meaning to check my benefits for what and how much is covered for PT but life is busy and I'm dumb.

Every time I see this thread it reminds me I should be eating! I hate being 6'6", 4000 calories minimum a day if I want to put on weight.

4000 calories a day? Holy, that's like 4 full racks of ribs. You must be the luckiest guy in the world.

It's better to be 6'6" and having to eat a fuckton, than to be 5'6", eat a lot and STILL be 5'6" lol.

As someone who was eating 3300 calories to maintain weight (before I stopped playing rugby, swimming, and changed my lifting routine - it's less now) and 3800 to gain, I'll testify that not a single bit of this is lucky, it's a miserable existence to have to constantly be forcing down food that you have no desire to eat. I'm only 6'3, if I were 6'6 I'd probably have given up by now.

On a college student budget it generally doesn't taste quite that good. It mostly tastes like chicken breast and milk almost everyday

SI stuff is just generally a pain in the butt to deal with. You don't happen to know any massage therapist or physio students that could check up on you? edit: just saw this from reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/comments/180m2s/i_lost_65_lbs_by_eating_pizza_and_doing_ss_i/

Found out my benefits so I'm going to look into it more. Just need to figure out the budget with the house and I'm having a baby... !

Wow, I don't know that you start to lose appetite the more you eat....that's understandable man. You have my condolence...

You are ONLY 6'3? I would do unspeakable things to alter my genes to grow that much. I'm 5'9 and 140 pounds.
My initiative statement just so that I can digitally record it so I can read it for future motivational reference:
So basically I was eating at nearly sub 1k Calories a day about 2 weeks ago. I need to eat about 1.6k Calories to main the basal metabolic rate (resting/not doing anything). Since I commute to Uni everyday and plus using a lot of my brain, that takes it up to 2k Calories. Only recently, I started to get my life back on track and yeah I totally understand your pain of eating more than I hoped for. But now that I want to start up training again, I probably need to increase my calorie intake to 2.5k Calories.
Now from many experiences on the board, they have a lot of struggle to eat involuntarily (just to live properly). I know that this may be a hard task to undertake.
Now unto sleep habits.
I was sleeping around 12 AM/1 AM and I have to wake up at 6 o clock 3 days a week and once 7 o clock in a week. You can say that I was getting averagely around 7 hours a day. I just want to ask this: "How many hours should a man sleep to maintain a very busy academic lifestyle (I major in Computer Science btw) WHILE working out?" I would really appreciate your inputs.
And finally the actual fieldwork.
I'm probably going to start off with non-equipment work like different form of pushups (diamond, wide), and crunches to hone my core element so my balance is settled. Right now, I can do 50 pushups and 60 Crunches. After 1 week, I will increase the amount of pushups to 60 and crunches to 70 and would continually increase the amount by an increment of 10/week. For the sets, I will start at 3 of those a day then around the third week which I would have done 70 pushups/80 Crunches, I would increase the sets to 4. Afterward, that's where I will do them in conjunction with weights and that means its time to hit the gym. That being said, while doing those, I'm also going to start with jogging 3 km for the first week. Then 4 km on the second one and so on. This is to make sure that my knees and thighs are able to sustain the bodyweight gains from the incoming massive food intake.
So yeah, the above is my statement to my initiative to get back on track with my life in 2013. Now I hope, no I WILL be able to do the above well. See you guys at beach season!

I found the first couple weeks of bulking were hard, but after that pigging came easy. Of course i have a pretty big food budget and was able to eat whatever I wanted.
