Don't agree with the monster midfielder at all, (or any midfielder right now, Busquets is central to their gameplay, he's really freaking good and not going anywhere).
Yea lol Tello has a better touch, equally if not better finishing and comparable pace (in terms of effectiveness anyway) and Walcott and vision is just lol

I would still only pay 15 mil for Walcott and wouldn't pay any more for Tello. I think there are dozens of better strikers around.

there is no reason to believe that Barca will be better than ever. I can't see Messi getting any better than his mega-elite level. Xavi is getting old and Puyol is going to become a footnote relatively soon. Villa/Alexis have fallen apart (though Pedro is good and Tello could be an improvement over them). Alves seems to have gone down a couple of notches as well. Tito hasn't exactly inspired people with his tactics either. Unless they get at least two big signings that assimilate really quickly, I don't think they will be better than last season or the one before that.

This season is gonna be huge for signings in Barça.
With the players coming up from Barça B (by contract) plus the guys coming back from temporal transfers at other teams, we get up to 32 men. That's about 10 more than Tito wants in the team, as he has said a few times he only wants 21 or 22.
I really hope Cesc leaves to Arsenal or wherever... So bad xD
Grats to Bayern for making it to the finals as expected. Should win it because they are the best atm, won't be rooting for them tho.

He has no tactical sense at all, and this a major requirement to play in this team... Probably the consequences of playing the Premier League for so long...
Who NEEDS to leave: - Alexis : I would like him to stay, but I doubt the culés will ever consider him as a good player, even though he's going to prove them wrong next year with la Juve or some other big team. Good money for him (around 30M€ I suppose) - Villa : Since the start of the 2011-12 season (even before his injury), he hasn't been the real David Villa. And all this circus about Messi vs Villa has been so ridiculous that I'm sure Villa is tired of this... And we can get some money from him (20+M€?) - Cesc : because of the above reasons + Good money (20+M€) - Valdès : because he's leaving for sure, and it's better to get some money for him (15M€) - Jonathan Dos Santos : because the managers don't seem to like him so much even though I could see him be the best replacement for Xavi from the Masia... He may have behavior issues like his older brother so that may be the reason x)
Who CAN leave: - Alves : although he got his head back in the game in the end of the season, I'm sure he wants to experience another team and I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave for PSG this summer. At his age it's probably best for us to let him go now than wait 1 or 2 years, with no money return... Probably around 10-20M€, I don't know anything about his contract. Him leaving would give some space for the young players to play more, Montoya first, and Grimaldo in 1-2 years. - Afellay : I see no future for him in Barcelona, he better stay in Germany... If he comes back he would also block the progression of Tello/Deulofeu... - Cuenca : same thing, but he has a profile we don't have in the team for now (dribbling skills), except for Deulofeu (who's not in the first team yet), and Neymar (who's not here yet).
Puyol and Abidal stepping back progressively and we're not far from the 10 people

I liked Cuenca when Pep was bringing him on a last season a bit, he brought something different to the wing. Not as good as Tello though. If Alves doesn't want to leave I wouldn't pressure a sale if I was in Barce front office unless you can get a sure upgrade somewhere, and I'm not sure who that would be that would fit in with the team.
Making it deep into the Champions League and winning La Liga is far more important than making 10-20mil on a player sale so if they can't upgrade in skill and/or chemistry then they shouldn't make a change.

The thing is that he's starting to get old, so maybe we won't get any money in 1-2 years... And even if we have some money, we also have a lot of financial issues, so we wouldn't be able to refuse an offer from say PSG or MCity. We have Adriano and Montoya to replace him, so it's not that bad. Anyway, if we really want to improve, we cannot think short term. We need to make changes now, and if I agree that Alves is not a mandatory change, doing it this year would probably be better for the long term project. Giving time to Montoya/Grimaldo is necessary. Same for Tello, Thiago, etc... We cannot expect to dominate next year as we did the last 5 years. Big changes demand sacrifices, and I think Alves could be one, as he was one of the most important member of the team that won everything.
But I'm afraid that this management won't take the measures we need, as they probably think that adding Neymar and Hummels (or T. Silva) will be enough to bring back the good old raping squad we had...

Big boys competition tonight :3
Hopefully a nice solid performance for Chelsea to give them some confidence to play against United on sunday!
Don't forget Valdes is leaving this summer. So a new keeper will defo come in which is a plus for Barca!
New Keeper New Winger New Centre Back
for sure we know are coming in. I think they personally need a young ST to rotate with Messi (if Villa leaves) and a CM player to play in the 3 to rotate with Xavi and Iniesta.

To 'rotate with Messi' (as if it existed xD), we have Deulofeu, and for the CM we have Thiago and Rafa Alcantara + Sergi Roberto. Tito said he wanted Afellay to come back and play in this position, so it's another solution. We definitely have the material to make the needed changes as we have enough cash to buy a GK, a winger (Neymar most likely), and a good CB; and enough youngsters from Barça B for the future. The only thing we need is a good execution of this plan, and it's what I'm afraid of...

Transition is a fun period for any club even Barcelona it seems. Chelsea have transitioned alot this season with the 3 amigos and JT and Lampard not playing as much, but haven't really done well on all fronts, just mediocre. Hopefully next season we will be back to our dominating best! Barca might need to take next season off as well to bed in their new players and get the youngsters up to speed, but no doubt they will still be awesome! XD

Kind a. At least to the part with Götze and Uli Hoeneß. They are mixing things and forget some details.
At first It was Honeß privat money and private tax so it has almost nothing to do with the club. Also he is no longer the manager, he is the president for a couple of years which means his job is more to be a represent.
Second the thing with the transfer of Götze. A lot of crap and bullsh*** is going threw the forums with that. To make it clear Bayern die nothing illegal by any meaning. Not by the rules of the UEFA or by DFL (Bundesliga) rules. Götze has a part in his contract which basically says: If someone comes and pays 37 Million €, you can go wherever you want. Exactly the same happened to Reus (form Borussia Mönchengladbach to Borussia Dortmund) and Gündogan (From Nürnberg to Dortmund).
Which means Dortmund fans are mad because of the same thing their team did to other Teams a year ago.
It´s not the nicest thing what Bayern did but no one in professional sports would have done it any different if they would be in the same position.

You're late to the argument by over a week.
In other, more relevant news...
Mario Götze targets final return [2.05.] Mario Götze suffered a torn hamstring during Tuesday´s second leg Champions League match at Real Madrid. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder´s injury was confirmed following an examination by club doctor Markus Braun at the Dortmund Knappschaft Hospital. A realistic target for Götze´s return is the Champions League final against Bayern Munich at Wembley on 25 May, according to Dr. Braun.

You're right they didn't do anything illegal by any means and it's a good transfer for them.
I liked about the article that it's not just a praise for the bundesliga like so many other articles at the moment. I especially liked the last part: "So you could forgive German football fans for feeling a bit like London punks in 1976 or Seattle grunge rockers in 1989. The world has woken up to how thrilling their scene is and suddenly they are hailed as the next big thing, but deep down inside there is the nagging feeling that the best days are already in the past."
That's kind of how I feel at the moment. The level of play in the bundesliga especially from Bayern and Dortmund was fantastic the last couple of years, still the focus of the football world laid heavily on La Liga and PL. Now bundesliga finally gets the deserved recognition, but let's face it: This season was just fucking boring. It somehow really lacked excitment for me. And I don't see it getting any better with Bayern buying Götze and possibly Lewandowski.

PL is still better than Bundesliga but I never understand how people can watch the Spanish League over the Bundesliga. Its almost as terrible as the SerieA. After Real and Barca its like the 2nd Division - just terrible football!

while I do think the bundesliga is more consistent than la liga its also a fact that there are just no other teams besides bvb and bayern that are playing any significant role in european competition.
I had hopes during last season that Gladbach and Schalke could make a similar developement as the bvb, because especially Gladbach were playing exceptional with young talents and a modern philosophy, but then Schalke lost Ragnik and Gladbach lost Reus + Dante (and will soon lose Herrmann, this guy is just 2gud that bayern or bvb won't buy him eventually) and that's it for them.

Total BS, can we stop bringing this in here. Bundesliga was less competitive than La Liga this year.
Atletico Real Sociedad Valencia Malaga
compare VERY favorably to the tier of German teams below Dortmund which is basically Leverkusen and Schalke. Everyone else is miles away from the top.
