Real and Barca are lightyears ahead of every other team. *whistles* athletico is pretty good from what ive heard bundesliga is the most entertaining,if it keeps going down that path it could be the top league in the next decade.

And still we had these 2 clubs in the Semis of Champions League + Atletico vs Athletic in the Finals of Europa League with Valencia in Semis. Man that is a weak league!
For entertainment I agree that the EPL is the best and that is due to the spirit on the field and also the huge tactical weaknesses of the top teams, that make every game unpredictable. Quality wise, I would rank the Bundesliga and la Liga on top, with EPL and Calcio just behind.

Sorry but I am not a real fan of on and off field drama. I prefer leagues where its all about football. And Premier League almost always ends up with the same top4, not really entertaining if you know which clubs end up at the top, relegation battle is almost always the same too.

I think "la liga" level is higher than bunderliga and the Italian Calcio. I think that only the Premier has a higher level because the high level team variety.
It just that teams seem worse that they are because Barsa and Madrid dominate. But the other La liga clubs are great and they would do great if they played other leagues without barsa and madrid.
Just look at last year, 3/4 spanish teams in Europe League semifinals with spanish final. This year 4 teams in Champions League Ro16 with Malaga overwhelming his group.
You understimate La liga teams a lot. Barsa and Madrid would dominate the same in the Premier or another league. (Well, Madrid this year maybe not, Morinho burnt his players last year).

Strong competition doesn't mean better entertainment.
The brazilian league (Campeonato Brasileiro) is a very competitive league, with the point differences among the top teams really really small (usually 1 or 2 points, commonly not larger than 3 points) along the whole season. The champion is not known until like the last 3 rounds, out of the 38 rounds.
Does that mean that the brasileiro is more entertaining than the spanish league? Definitely not. The average game here really sucks to watch. The skill level is atrocious if you compare it to european leagues. The only thing that keeps the league somehow entertaining for us is the club passion, the strong rivalries and the fact that there are always more than 6 teams who are clearly title contenders.
But the entertainment value for foreigners is definitely not the same. From someone from outside all you see is an average skill level league, with many games being very boring to watch, nothing to look forward to, no one to follow.
So my point is, you can have a very competitive league, but that doesn't directly translates to entertainment.

Fair point. A lot of drama in the EPL as well as less unpredictability. Also Bundesliga is very close. I personally value the amount of individual games which are awesome to watch over a generally good league with few spectacular games, but I see your point of view...

Its all subjective.
I find the PL more entertaining, hell lower division football in England is even more entertaining to watch.
Qualitywise its a different story though. Even then its difficult to say.

I don't think it can get much closer than the 06/07 season in the Netherlands, three teams on equal points. The team with the best goal difference facing the easiest opponent suffering a shocking defeat, the team with the worst goal difference managing the championship by one goal difference over the number 2. With different scores the title was changing city a couple of times during the playtime. There is a nice video showing it on youtube, but it's quite bad quality and in Dutch. Or 2 seasons ago we had number 1 and 2 on from the league playing against each other on the final day (for the championship), and face a few days later (or earlier can't remember) for the domestic cup.
Unfortunately our competition is also dwindling in skill compared to the greater leagues

Fantastic second half between Swansea and Arsenal. Motherfucking Michu scores as usual (came on as a sub), Podolski equalised (subbed on as well), then Gibbs scored after a brilliant assist from Giroud and Swansea equalises again as Graham smashes in a corner. Damn good entertainment.

Mourinho seats Casillas on the bench again. 5mn later, Adan get a red card, Casillas enters the field! It's like in the movies hahahaha. INSTANT KARMA I'm pro Barcelona but for Casillas who's been an example his whole career I would have loved him to stop this penalty kick. Madrid 1-1 Sociedad
