Mourinho is a god. remember when RM lost 5-0 to Barca under mourihno? yeah his first one Thank you for proving my point. Huh? If Mourinho, who lost his first El Clasico by 0-5, is a god, then Vilanova, who won his first by 3-2, must be the king of gods. Oh, and your 'god' is still 8 points behind. Because the quality of a coach is directly correlated to their results in a game against the best squad in years. And that coach came into the game with a bunch of invalids right ? He tried to play them at their own game when his team wasnt ready for it. Gods dont make those mistakes.
Hey even Gods make mistakes Besides he achieved his place at Olympus because of his achievements at Porto and anything that comes after that is bonus.
edit: And portugal really need a striker. 84 minutes of nearly non-stop attacking and nothing to show for it.

as a noun. I was employing sarcasm.
He had a killer squad he just used it wrong because he didnt know how to. Sure he learnt to and built it pretty mean and I it is now a better team than Barca in terms of squad strength and balance. But thats not godly feat.
Its just a great one. And thats what he calls himself doesnt he. The great one. Not the Godly one. Even Mou doesnt cream his pants that much when he sees himself in the mirror. O wait I think there was an only one in their somewhere.

Yea but then that just goes back to the point about there being many gods.

So you're basically offended by the word "god"? Of course he makes mistakes, everyone makes mistakes. Barcelona also lost 2-0 against Hercules in Camp Nou in that season. So what? Were they automatically disqualified as the best team in the world? Did Mourinho cease to be the best coach in the world? No.

Barcelona is not a godly team either.

Sounds like that when the fanboys say it. When you refer to someone as godly the obvious implication is they do no wrong.
Messi is a usually at the end of quite a few of those.

Kawashima's performance vs France was just sick, sick, sick! He is one of the most underrated gks in the world imo.
Btw Japan won 1-0

Wow, for a friendly Brazil were on a bit of a tear..

It's no shame to lose 0-4 against Brazil.
I am proud enough of what Japan accomplished this year.

I thought Brazil and Argentina were employing outdated methods and Uruguay was numero uno
I guess the international game being purely cyclical and a bit of a lottery in terms of how teams gel just doesnt hold true and its all about the systems.
The systems they get to employ for like a week or 2 at a time a few times a year. That surely must be the reason. Go Euro style.

They are employing outdated methods. But it doesn't mean they can't win with them. Some German coach once said football is the only sport where the worse team can win.

Thats true for almost all forms of competition, not just football or sports. Secondly. Ofcourse they can win with them, that was the whole point of my caustic remark. Because systems and styles within themselves dont affect the international game like they do in club football. So suggesting a team is going down because theyre style or method is outdated when all of the teams barely get to play together for peanuts in terms of practice time doesnt cut it.
Thats why team chemistry is more on the players and where they play their regular football than perhaps how they are coached. Im not saying it has no bearing but a freer reign would probably go a longer way than playing like maybe say..
Woy's England..

Klose so good.
I wish he could steal Gomez' years and Gomez retires.
|
Reus has been massive first half and Klose gets better with age somehow.
|
Feels like Klose will be scoring free way into his fourties. Feel pretty sad seeing Sweden being beaten this badly by Germany, but it's not like i expected anything else.

european teams win tournaments more frequently than south american teams because 1: there are more competent european teams 2: football (especially BO1 knockout phase) is kinda random
so you have WC coming up. there's brazil and argentina, and then there's like, spain and germany playing at equal or higher level. then there's like, depending on year, portugal france italy netherlands also capable of knocking out brazil and argentina.
I mean, spain has definitely been the best team the past 3 championships, but they've still been very lucky to actually win all 3.
