For months since starting SS been eating hard and all my lifts have been going up so I felt good. Well now I feel like shit. I feel like I'm not losing any weight anymore and just stagnating even going slightly up and I was fooling myself thinking it was muscle gain because of my lifts going up. Sigh, birthday was on the weekend had some drinks for it. Didn't miss a gym session and Now this. Fucking sigh. Should feel good today finally hitting 120kg squat. But instead I feel like I've taken 10 steps back. Missed my goal of under 100kg by my Bday (thought it was because of the muscle gain for SS) but I realise now that was just my mind giving shit excuses. I leave for Canada on the 10th dec to meet my gf's parents and I want to make a good impression but I'm feeling incredibly demotivated now ![]() You were feeling good because you were getting stronger which is something to feel good about. Don't let something someone said fuck with you. I find the more I squat the less fucks I give about what other people think anyways. If you want to, just start lowering your Cal count to - 300/500 a day and keep lifting your ass off. Best way to make a good first impression is a firm handshake so keep at it.

So true. Keep up the good work. Like everyone has said, results happen because of consistency and dedication and you've obviously got it in you.

I can see myself doing 300x10x10 with straps. Still, great way to train grip. Also tried reverse barbell curls, another good way to strength grip. Gonna do it after deadlifts on saturdays. PS: Decaf quit rugby, become klokov. Just noticed this post, good thing you posted it, I've been losing grip strength like a motherfucker and have droped a lot on my DL. Any other good way to train my grip? Except for, you know, deadlifts?

Except for, you know, deadlifts? Wendler recommends heavy, high rep, cheating DB rows. Also rack pulls and farmers walks. and make sure you're doing most of your DLs with double overhand.

For the people doing grip specific stuff, how frequently do you do it? Every second day, everyday, once a week, etc?

My goal of repping 2 plates 6 times seems within reach, though my gains here seem to be decelerating Squat dramatically rising since I introduced it into my workout; just did 165x5,185x6,205x6 Wow, I can't believe it was last June since my last update. I actually ended up quitting and starting again several times... but I'm definitely up from back then and probably the best shape I've ever been in weight lifting wise. Currently at 185lbs, 6'1. Current stats: Bench: 215lb x 5 Squat: 225lb x 6 Press: 125lb x 6 It feels good to be reasonably in shape again, curling 40lbs, etc, makes this feel pretty worth it. I was doing cleans, but ended up messing my back up slightly (I injured it pretty badly last year with deadlifts). So I'm going to stop doing cleans for awhile. My goal is to get my bench up to 225lbs x 8 and squats to 255lbs x 6. The 225 lbs x 8 goal is just so I can feel like I'm repping two plates easily :D I guess that's about 2 months away. At that point I'm going to switch to lifting 1x a week instead of 4x a week, and start swimming hardcore again. Maybe I'll actually start to see some abs if I keep that up =D
