nice lifting! Do you work in any snatch balance/ overhead squats? It will help with your lockout and turnover of the bar that you seem to have trouble with.



Btw the lsus program is brutal. I couldnt stand for a couple minutes after my 10rm snatch deadlifts. LOL

how reasonable is it to eat off wood instead of your tummy?

Just watched a ton of youtube clips on olympic weightlifting. That shit looks so badass. When would you recommend me trying these lifts? I was thinking maybe when I hit intermediate strength levels: http://www.exrx.net/Testing/WeightLifting/StrengthStandards.htm?

Coworker visiting from Montreal, terrible week in terms of alcohol consumption (probably 4x normal), lack of sleep, and terrible food. One more week of mayhem before returning to my regular lifting routine. People tend to go insane when to visit Tokyo for some reason, and my training becomes the collateral damage =/

Managed to sneak in a quick lifting session yesterday though with six hours and sleep and being hung over (don't know how decaf does this):

Hang clean (above knee): 40x3 50x3 60x3 70x3
Clean: 70x3 80x3 90x3 95x1 100x1

Cleans felt pretty good, and will be going for 105 and 110 next time, when I'm hopefully feeling better

Had a really dumb training today. Got up to 185lb (5lb off PR) snatch with only one miss so I decided to go for 200lb lol.I kept going forward and missing the lockout. Some misses felt really close so I kept trying. Did a total of 15 attempts with that weight lol. After that c&j and squats felt shitty - got up to 225 c&j but it was shaky on the jerk. Gotta train smarter and realize when a weight is not there.

haha I still do that sometimes. What helped for me was just aiming for a 5lb PR or max 10lb if I'm feeling really good. It helps psychologically if you train really frequently like I was doing for squat nemesis since 5lb per workout is still like 30lb per week

Thats awesome! I doubt there's even 15 unis in america with lifting clubs. I'd start working on mobility and basic technique with an empty bar asap though!

Gonna leave my 195lb snatch here It felt effortless, like I got lucky and hit really good positions lol.



I should take a day and go for max on c&j before snatches. Whenever I max out on both I get wayyyy too caught up on the snatches then I get tired and can't go as heavy on the c&j haha.

Only after 4 weeks of the new strength cycle and I'm seeing some good progress. Coach thinks my elbow unlocking may be due to some sort of shoulder imbalance or tightness so we'll be working on that with the start of the next cycle. I won't complain though, PR 2.5kg snatch, 2.5kg cnj, 5kg total, 2.5kg and 5kg squat (no video sorry) without any tapering off.
If you die this way, you won't live to tell anyone how you died
