^What a beast, holy shit. Kind of makes me not want to post my petty lifts lol. I've been recording my training so much lately (everyday pretty much), I feel it has really helped fix some details.

+ Show Spoiler +

I'm pretty happy with my snatch form, and with my clean, I'm finally not going forward on the catch. The jerk still needs work lol but I'll get it. Went for a heavy single on the c&j and got up to 90kg on the first try. Also since I'm switching over to a cross fit gym I turned around so I wouldn't see myself in the mirror lol, I think it actually helped not looking at myself. Last vid from me until I hit 100kg c&j!

Dude, you're good for at least 20kg more on the clean. Look at how high you catch those lifts.

Maybe 20kg is a bit too much haha but 10kg for sure, I'll get it next week!

As a general rule if you can FS it for a triple you should be able to cj it

My vids are up on dartfish (although i didn't see the 165 cj). Cant link em though i'm not on my computer and i dont have microsoft silver light ~~

Yeah more forward than normal, no idea why. I usually have em way back. My cj was terrible in warm ups coach told me he's never seen someone warm up so bad and them change completely on the platform. Found the 165 on someone else's name lol

Holy shit decaf, the foot slipping on that 165 looked horrible. Especially with such a deep split too. Cleans looking strong though.

Thanks. Brutal jerks but oh well

(cross post from tlhf)
My lifts from the Arnold. Not my best meet. Big step up from my performance at the open though.

Wow the side views really put how deep your split in the jerk is into perspective. When is the next upcoming meet for you and or dimsum?

Kicked ass at meet today.

BW 100kg, 16y/o

Sn 80, 86, 90(3kg PR)
CJ 104, 110 (4kgPR), 113x

Had that 113 too, didn't recover well.
A little under a year ago, I had my first meet. Hurt my knee screwing around with my buddies playing rugby the day before and did a crappy 2/6 65/85. Was so disappointed with that meet, but this one was pretty great!

Will post video when I get it from organizers.

Nice work Dewski. Man I wish I started lifting earlier, the sport has done only good things for me in so many ways. How long have you been lifting for?

can you evaluate the teaching in this video? I haven't heard of this "sweep" technique before and using your lats like that in that part of the lift. I've always thought the correct way is to pull the bar straight up.

edit: here's a clean & jerk of mine. I'm pretty new to olympic lifting so critique away

Yes the bar is supposed to travel backwards off the floor. This is a pretty good example of mine
http://www.dartfish.tv/Player.aspx?CR=p90777c60150m1382415

I don't like to think of it as sweeping, but more of keeping correct body positions and shitting your balance backwards to accommodate for the heavy weight in front of you, resulting in both you and the bar traveling backwards

If don mccauley said it, I don't think anyone needs to listen to the video to know that it's going to be good advice. The man knows what he's talking about when it comes to olympic lifting.
