Great job DimmuKlok! are you on the the first 2 weeks where it just gets your legs ready for what is going to come? Those were easy for me. When you squat 4 days in a row. Doesnt get hard until like4-5 weeks in imo. then it gets really draining.
I skipped the 2 introductory weeks. I did 5 sets of 127,5kg x 7 reps today. Will be squatting 4 times / week the next 3 weeks.
So. Many. Posts.
Will read tomorrow <.<

Thanks guys, I think I will start the blog
Hopefully this will motivate me to start a strict diet and sleep schedule.

Sit up should be pretty easy. Check out hundredpushups.com for a routine to improve your push-up numbers. I tried it three years back, and I can say with confidence that it works quite well.

I reached my weight loss goal that I set for myself when I originally posted in this thread(Although I forgot to be specific). My goal was to reach 250lbs by June and I'm at 247lbs as of today. That's 33lbs lost since I started posting here and 63lbs lost total.
Since I've reached my initial goal and I'm still not satisfied yet, I'm going to make my next goal to be 220lbs before September.
Hello everyone, I'm back again with another update. I quoted my last update for convenience. As of today I am 219.5lbs, meaning I reached my goal of hitting 220 by September! I'm very happy about this achievement. That's 90.5lbs lost so far from when I started in mid December at 310lbs. I'm still not quite done, though. My next goal is to be 200lbs by Jan 1st of 2012. This goal I wasn't even sure could happen. When I first started losing weight I really only wanted to see if I could get to 250lbs, and if I could, then try to get to 230. Here I am at 219.5 and I'm looking at 200 being the ultimate goal. I have no idea what I'll look like when I do reach 200 because I've been overweight for so many years, but I'm eager to find out. As for pictures, I don't have any right this moment but I do plan on uploading some. I will probably upload some before my next update (200 lbs) and for sure by Nov when everyone's supposed to post pictures. ^^ Thanks for reading everyone, and good luck with your own goals! That is awsome and inspirational, what to write up a bit how youve done it? I am on a simliar road to you just didnt start nearly as fat haha.. Sure, lol. I started off just eating less than I normally ate, although not changing what I ate, and going to the gym daily to use an elliptical for an hour. This was before I found this thread and before I did much research on getting fit. I lost 30lbs doing this but it started to get really hard to lose additional weight. I was convinced that all I needed to do to lose additional weight was to do even more cardio.
Then I found TL H&F. I received tons of helpful information from the OP and from asking question in the thread. I eventually came to the conclusion that what I was doing was inferior. I started SS and eating as Paleo as possible, all the while watching my caloric intake. I was worried at first because up until then I thought cardio was the only way to lose weight and the more cardio you did the more weight you lost. But I was wrong.
I stopped doing cardio completely and relied on my diet to lose weight. I was happily surprised to find that I was losing weight even faster than I was before, and it was a lot easier than doing cardio for a couple hours everyday. SS helped with the weight loss too, but I mostly love SS for all the strength gain. I've been doing SS and eating Paleo(ish) ever since and have lost 90.5lbs so far, with 110lbs as my goal.
I strongly recommend anyone that wants to lose weight to try out the Paleo diet. There's a lot of helpful information about it in the OP and I've had nothing but success with it.
Thanks for reading. ^^

This seems similar to the Army PT, are you training for that by any chance? As long as you keep at these goals, you should be able to hit them easily.

I just don't see how it's possible to lift more weight every session and be able to pump out the whole 5x5 every time given my experience. I think I'm eating enough since my weight hasn't changed much. 5 lbs increases man... 5 lbs. But you are going to start lower than your 5 RM and ramp up like I detail about. And if you're trying to gain weight you gota eat til it hurts everyday every meal Yeah, I was just responding to what glurio said and I still plan to get 2.5 lb plates since 10 lb jumps are simply too much for me. Maybe it works for other people but unless I worked up my 125 bench to something like 6x6 and then go for 3x5 @135, I don't see myself making that jump so easily or as consistently. I'm just hoping my fat magically turns to muscle if I do enough chinups :D Let me put it this way. In one month, I have increased my bench from 50kg's 5-5-5 to 62.5kg 5-5-5 In one month I have gained more strength than you did in the last three years. Do SS, it works. Everybody can make the jump, deload 10-20% on all of your lifts and BUY SS AND READ IT, and then go smash through where you are now.

Thanks for the motivational spiel but I've only trained for a few weeks in 1st year of uni and on-and-off for the last couple of months lol
edit: Don't take it wrong, I'm not dismissing SS if it sounds like that. I will start some variation of SS when I'm done exams (which is in 3 hours...>_<)

"When i go in to do a heavy weight, I've already lifted it in my mind. There's no doubt in my mind that that weight's coming up. If you don't believe you can do a weight and you attempt it, you don't even have a chance." Gotta believe man, don't let your mind mess with you.

I like Layne Norton's PHAT program... but it is five days a week, and you want to train four. It's a good split of bodybuilding and power training, and I think that I may do it in some time.
|
PHAT is a great routine, i'd definately would do it but i don't think i can manage 5 days/week when uni starts again. On a different note: my leg biceps hurts really bad feels like DOMS^9001. No clue why though, yesterday was leg day but it wasn't too hard. (Did front squat 80kgx5-5-5 PR quite happy about that. ) Any quick fixes? Already took some ibuprofen.

I must ask something, i started reading the Stronglift book with the 5x5 and I think I might start doing it too loose weight faster and gain muscle. Does it work?? I dont want to waste time on stuff that actually doesnt work.

If you don't care about your diet you will mostly gain muscle and lose very little fat.

SS or SL will work very well coupled with a good diet

Mind if I put your testimonial in the OP?
Also, who was collecting the testimonials from this thread earlier?
I want to add them to the OP....
