for others it might be more beneficial to put some tension into the bar first, especially if the bar allows for it.

But I agree, at least 10kg more but the lockout was hard. Awesome vid DimSum! (and thank god for mute). On the last squatting clip you were letting your knees cave a little in on your way up ![]()

I was doing it at the gym today and it felt amazing. Of course it was my first time and I'm starting light at 50kgx5 (usually can do standing OHP of 65kgx5), but I think I want to keep this exercise up.

Lost our best hitter today two weeks before nationals(fucking ruined his ankle knee or shin, everyone on the field heard it pop)...shit is gonna be rough. lost 30-17 in a real close game against a mens team. I put up a score for our side at least ![]() P.S. dimsum = beast. Reppin bodyweight snatches like its no big deal. Form soooo much better than mine. And sexy nike's to boot.

I'm 27, 5'7 1/2, 135 lbs. I haven't had any exercise for a long long time now, probably for years. Now I want to get fit so I started exercising today. I started warm up with some shadow boxing, then followed this video. After doing this I got really really tired, I didn't even follow her instructions on the duration. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fewp3PBNRLs Then I did bench presses then squats with only a bar without weights. After a while I got nauseated. I rested for hours now I feel better. I just need some advice on what I did wrong, did I do too much to cause the nausea? I was hydrated and had lunch like 2-3 hrs earlier. I want to get fit and not get tired easily. I can't even do push ups and I'm not fat. Maybe I can set that as my goal. Goals: Not feel like dying after doing warm up in the video. Be able to do Pushups Long term Goal: To be able to carry my mom whom had stroke, and can't move anymore Thanks in advance. Edit: Sorry guys I'm trying to embed the video, haven't done it before.

I really looks like you just are terribly out of shape (posting a pic would tell us more )A good call would be doing Starting Strength and some serious eating. (info about that in OP) I don't think that was anything specific that caused the nausea apart from your body being shocked from being put to use.

What should I do so my body won't be shocked next time? sorry bout your mom bro. try not to do too much too soon. seems like that's what happened with your first workout. though in order to not "shock" your body next time you'll just have to keep on exercising so your body adapts. and yeah, working your way towards being able to do push ups is a good place to start. you should also add in some air squats so your lower body doesn't get neglected. once those things become easy, then you could start doing Starting Strength as sjarl suggested ![]()

The first workout is always significantly worse than the second, which is significantly worse than the third, etc. Your body will adapt fast. The only other thing to watch out for is how much you've eaten beforehand. Some people can eat a big meal an hour before working out with no problems; others have to go practically on an empty stomach. Best to play it safe for your first couple weeks, and definitely lay off the pizza, cheesecake, etc.

![]() I think squat form is starting to suffer a bit as I increase in weight. Pretty sure I can handle a bit more weight overall. Military press is just mega hard for me. I'll just keep going at it I guess. As the reps go on, it becomes physically impossible to lift the damn bar up X_X Deadlift - Couldnt' perform a straight up 5 rep set, so I had to put down the weight for abotu 5-10 seconds between each rep. Massive amounts of grunting getting this one out ![]()
