Thanks. I want to take videos but the staff at my gym doesn't really appreciate that... I'll have to wait for a low-volume time when one of my friends is in the gym. Today I practiced some bar-only power snatches, and it felt pretty good. I've read up a lot on the snatch and C&J, and today's goal was to gauge where my grip should be on the snatch and work on my front squat power under the Madcow protocol. Based on what I've read, it seems that for my height and arm length I should hold the grip at the very outer edges. For clean and jerk I'm not sure, but I've always had a terrible clean that I hope to fix in upcoming months. I finally figured out how to front squat without doing the cross-arm thing today though, which was nice. | ||

Most of the gyms around here just have aerobics classes and equipment for your typical cardiobunny. Those guys know what's up with lifting form, weight room etiquette, and so on. Even today when I was snatching with an empty bar, some guy was looking at me like I was crazy, then started doing deadlifts in the squat rack. After that he moved the barbell out of the squat rack and glared at me while doing so because the oly lifting area and squat rack are next to each other, and apparently he didn't feel safe with me snatching there. Fuck him anyway; my deadlift doubles his and therefore my opinion is twice as valid. /endrant Yeah, I guess my pre-workout warmup is watching everyone in the weight room. My heart rate doubles and I break a sweat with anger alone. | ||

It allows you to pull greater weights if you have the proper leverages but still doesn't look nearly as good as the conventional pulling style. | ||

I'll be benching 100kgx5 in nine weeks I'll be deadlifting 175kgx5 in nine weeks I'll be front squatting ... 81kg in nine weeks fml. Can I just follow sessionly progression on front squats for now? | ||

Also: did you add reps on the squat from last session? started SS two months ago. here were my starting weights: squat: 60kg press: 40kg dl: 100kg bp: 65kg pc: 40kg Now, after two months of eating like a bear, my numbers look like this: squat: 125kg (+65kg holy shit!) press: 57.5kg (+17.5kg) dl: 142.5kg (+42.5kg) bp: 90kg (+25kg) pc: 67.5kg (+27.5kg) hehe never checked out my total gains before now. quite pleased tbh! beginner gains ftw right ![]() and about adding reps: last time, I went 4x3x1x127.5kg, today I managed to get the first set with 5 reps. but after the second rep in the second set I had to drop the bar :/ then I was too scared to go for it again and just finished with 5x120kg... so I dunno... gonna go for it again on wednesday and see what happens ![]() oh yeah, chatted a bit with a guy in the gym today. and when I told him that I used to be a fat load a year a ago, he wouldnt believe me so even though it wasnt from a girl, its still nice to hear hehe | ||
