So went to the gym to just practice power cleans before I went out last night

Did about 50-100 reps I suppose (didn't keep track at all, just a guess), and I did it perfect one time.
It's a feeling where you know you did it right. The bar felt weightless. and it was awesome.

Sadly that only happened once. I did it pretty good another 4 or 5 times, but thats about it. Hoping to get more practice in soon so I can do it right.

Edit: lol bruises on my shoulders from catching it (probs wrong a couple of times lol)

Anybody know how I could get started without any equipments? Im a poor students and can't really afford a gym membership, Im also not too sure where to look if I were to buy some free weights.

Im also pretty new at this stuff, I don't know much besides pushups, situps, etc.. So anybody have any tips for this skinny guy trying to get in shape?

yes. eat a lot! there is some good information about bodyweight exercises in the OP I believe. go check those out

Fuck I hate my brother. First time I did squats I did 65 kgs. First time he did squats he did 87.5 kgs. And he is 183 cm and weights 71 kgs. Why does he have so good genetics and I don't ?! >_<

height: 172cm
weight: 72kg (160lbs) - I'm at least 10lbs overweight atm.

Lifted from 10/2009-6/2010. Then took a 6 month+ hiatus as my life situation changed dramatically. Problem is, I could squat this weight when I weighed 145lbs in 3/2010 after a month of cardio and strict diet.

Finally back home. Had my first healthy meal in like 10 days rofl. Slamming fish oil, vitamins, vegatables, protein, and cutting out carbs. Sore as hell from playing rugby and i didn't even do that much. So out of shape. My body is noticeably less defined then last week. Probably managed to put on a couple pounds of fat and lose a couple pounds of muscle. About to fall asleep for a long time. Then hitting the gym hard as hell tomorrow.
On the bright side, when i was in shape and walking around downtown new orleans girls were literally tackling me so that was fun

core/abs
played around with muscle snatch failing at 51

My clean form is getting better but my jerk is still trash. The second phase of the workup actually feels better than the first, I really like it a lot. I flew through todays workout even with the heavy volume and finished faster than normal lol.

So for people who are oly lifting, this might be a good change of pace. Stay with relatively light weights(I think my weights are only about 75/80%) and keep working on form. Second workout seems a lot easier for some reason, maybe because I was more warmed up...


Gonna try this out some time. If you have any other oly routine info let me know...i feel like its really hard to find it online T_T

tell me about your progress! What do you have trouble with? What are your strengths? Its 4 weeks out, so practicing full lifts are more important.

Thanks i'll check it out. Also i have something of a competition coming up on the 26th (i might only be able to compete in one lift as i have a rugby game to play as well). Any tips/advice? I hope i can get something resembling my former total back after the events of spring break.
