Did powercleans for the first time today... was fun trying to learn new stuff
Unfortunately I couldn't get the 2nd pull perfect; 45lbs is too light to get my arms to let it fly up when I'm concentrating on shrugging to my ears and keeping my arms straight to not just barbell row easy weight. But I don't want to increase the weight until I have the technique ok since catching on my wrists a couple times legit hurt with just the bar...
Dude next to me during squats was doing quarter lunges in the smith machine with 225lbs... I really wanted to just load up 250 and knock some out. But being ultraconservative with this reset I stuck with my 145x3x5, making sure everything is tight I think SS has made me overly critical of skinny guys doing random exercises that don't seem efficient :/

Obviously i can as i did it last week :-p But yeah today it felt like my back would have snapped in half if i wasn't using a belt and my arms felt like garbage after.

Ice and massage and generally mobility can work wonders.... I'd only use NSAIDs if the impingement is like super bad
No, but the symptoms seem to match up. Dont really have time for a physician visit and i'd be better off with a monkey and a stethoscope than going to my university clinic (they'd probably diagnose with me with gingivitis or something). If its still bothering me when i get back i'll schedule a doctors appointment. Till then i'll just ice + roll it with a softball (lost my tennis ball ). Also i should probably get my head checked out, the nerves are still kinda numb on the ride side of my scalp from when i got hit in the eye (getting better i think though lol)

If that's the case, you're well on your way to where you should be. SS builds Workout snobs - because we're just better.
I swear I hurt myself every time I do chinups. Did them on the assisted machine, because my buddy can't do them otherwise. Put the little knee pad down to do mine, and apparently he didn't take the weight off it, so the pad shook loose on my set, flew up and hit me in the shins. Had 70pounds on there too. Bruises all over.
I also need to eat and sleep more - i'm constantly drained of energy because I only get max 5hours a night, my fridge is low so im eating two meals a day when I should eat four. I need more carbs than i'm getting from veggies - considering adding whole wheat pasta back into the diet just because it seems like the best way to get them. Can't even get a good lift in because im constantly exhausted.
Long story short, not feeling as awesome as I should be. I'm ready for spring break.

well you cant hit your pr everytime you go for it. It doesnt work like that haha.
|
Obviously...but i should be able to break my PR whenever i want to, right? :D My clean form is starting to feel awkward at weights like under 120kg. i feel like i shouldn't even need to try but obviously i do T_T
@phyre: potatoes, oats, rice i think are okay choices for some carb dense food.

Especially sweet potatoes because they're more nutritious and taste better. It's magic.

Decent day today I spose...
Deloaded squats to 65kg 5x5, NP Overhead press 2nd attempt @ 35kg 5/4/4/3/2 (an improvement over last time's 5/3/2/2/2) Deadlift 2nd attempt @ 100kg 1x5 nailed it (started using mixed grip, might take me a while to get used to it but the lifts felt pretty solid) Dips 5kg 3x5 NP NP
despite the disappointment of the OHP, still feeling good. Gotta kick my diet into overdrive asap, now that I've got the sleeping part done correctly.

He's 20, which means that thanks to America's inane laws regarding alcohol, he's not allowed in any bar worth going to.

Heh, I've been drinking since I was like 14. I'm sorry kidneys...
Went for a run yesterday which was ok, but since I changed running styles like 5 times trying to avoid my lower back pain, I ended up destroying my calves.
Failed on the 3rd rep on a 140kg today >_<
Still felt awesome loading up 3 plates. Now to eat, shower and drink 40 beers.

did an easier variation of L pull ups today (knees bent) cause i don't have the flexibility. and besides, i probably wouldn't be able to do them anyway even if i did have the flexibility lol.
it was pretty tough. i don't think i've ever felt this sore in the mid section before.

Yeah!
Good day at the gym!
Even thought I didn't make any progress weight wise, My form and technique are a whole lot better now :D. (I'm sore as fuck too T_T;).
Squat: 107kg 3x5 PowerClean: 62kg 5x3 (according to a guy, my form is fucking good. He always encourages me, like yelling shit like "go", "come on!", "do that shiiiitasdfasdf". ;D) Clean: 45kg (3x5) I also did a warmup set of 15reps with 25kg. Shit was killing me haha .

1. Sorry liver
2. When you change to proper running style you should do VERY VERY VERY little distance... maybe like half a mile most. Otherwise it will destroy your calves...
3. Doh.

Sigh....
I'm sure a lot of you guys have been on many different forums, like bodybuilding.. or read Men's Health or just talk to a friend who's an expert.
And.. don't you get such conflicting advice???
Some people say eat this, others say, no don't eat that, are you stupid? Other people say do that and others say no don't do that, are you stupid?
And they all provide links to "studies" that prove what they are saying. It's like EVERYTHING in the world is bad for you. Unless it's obviously good like water, clean chicken breast with like nothing on it or fish.
Anything else is borderline cancerous.
For example... I ask about eating nuts, some people say good protein snack, others say too much fat and carbs.
I try to eat fruit that are low in sugar like berries, some people say it's good because of all the anti-aging factors and vitamins and fibre, others call me out for being weak and saying just give up on sugar all together because sugar is still sugar and it's bad for you and it doesn't matter if it's from a fruit.
Like WTF?
