Over here there are two different licenses, one for manual and one for automatic, and you aren't allowed to drive a manual if you got the automatic license. One lisence, don't need to know manual. The vast majority of cars are automatic. I believe it's gotten to the point where you have to specifically ask for a manual - if the model even offers it. Though I will note, my mom's care is default automatic, but you can shift into manual.

Cuz that's just not really the same feel.

Ya he's probably referencing a manumatic/sportmatic. Unless Jerf has gotten some seat time on some high end car with a legit paddle shifted dual clutch?

It really comes down to control and throttle response for me. On a manual your pedal has a direct link to your throttle and fuel injection; engine has a direct link to your tranny. You press pedal and your car goes. No delay. (Except in German cars w/ fly by wire... zzz) You also know directly what your foot poistion means in terms of engine speed and usage; as you also control your gear with a good foot you control your speed precisely. On an automatic they have a computer that takes your input and assumes what you're trying to do, maths out a curve, decides best gear and fuel input / air intake. As good as computers are this is a complicated multivariable calculation (throttle opening, fuel air ratio, the spot on tge cvt through the entire movement) that requires iteration. You press pedal and the car things for a third of a second then gives you what you want. However, it's confusing because your car is interpolation what it assumes you want but that isn't always what you want; your pedal position has no consistency in its correlation with your engine or your actual speed; wherevyour foot is on the pedal means different things depending on the situation. The best analogy I can give is that driving a manual is like playing darksouls with no input lag and driving an automatic is like playing shadow of mordor with a slight input lag. Your results of play either way is a horde of dead things, and maybe shadow of motor bro even did cooler stuff; but the precision, timing, lack of input delay, and lack of assumptions about my intentions in many peoples opinions leads to a more enjoyable game that feels more engaging and rewarding.

All i want is to play vs meta decks, not your random trash. I shouldnt be sitting here wondering how to beat damn cthun druid. there is nothing fun about getting beat by random cards because you are playing around the good ones.

I've been playing C'thun Druid here and there. It's a really silly deck. The meta is what people are playing. It's a part (albeit rare) of the meta. tl;dr - gitgud

But my priority is to not get killed, and to that end I want to have as few responsibilities as possible while doing it so that I can focus on not getting killed. Hence, I would never want to drive a manual. I kind of want to learn how though, just in case of emergency.

Say Yango, could there be another game out there that allows for multiple deck archetypes at tier 1 level constructed power? If so, what game would that be? It sounds really interesting and I think you should tell us more about it.

WHAT IS THIS HERESY. + Show Spoiler + I say this to Hearthstone players all the time, and I think the stock response is to grasp it more tightly and start twitching uncontrollably. At some point this is going to be diagnosed as a genuine disease state.

The reality of a game like that is the quality bar that it needs to meet is very low, because at the end of the day it's not actually requiring a lot of time or money.

Although it's getting a bit more boring, their update cycle is fairly slow.
