Reading American news from abroad is like watching a delicious trainwreck now.

Which system? Turn based? RTWP? First person?
It's a pretty broad genre.

The only reason US propaganda is anywhere similar to USSR is because people aren't taught critical thinking enough in school.

It's a pretty broad genre. turn based with limited resources and lengthy dungeons

darkest dungeon and FTL. try googling turn based roguelikes, that seems to be the genre you're looking for.

Biased or one-sided reporting is not automatically propaganda though. Often media simply cater to their specific audiences when they do that. When I read private opinions on the internet they are usually way more biased and extreme than what you see in the media. But the media reflect this to an extent. Example of how the audience determines the character of the news would be comparing CNN US to CNN international.

Yeah coming from spending the last two years living in countries that actually DO have state run media, American media hasn't sunk to that level yet.
It's getting eerily close though.
We always make fun of the political systems here in SEA for basically being a joke/facade of actual Democracy. I'd always talk up USA and say it's really a great place, and the reason why its reputation abroad is as bad as it is is because Americas flaws, while real, are overly magnified on the internet and in the media. For every hour we spend talking about the horrible things that happen in Vietnam or wherever we spend 1000 hours talking about bad things in America that are really not as bad. I'd explain to people that as many horrible things that the American system does, it's still better than most of the other systems in the world, because there are certain important things we just do not do.
Now I see Trump starting to behave like the political leaders here do, and talk the way they talk. He's basically one jailed journalist away from eroding everything that I thought made our system better.
It's very scary.

IMO the scarier thing than Trump himself is the commentary I see coming from most netizens. It just seems to me to show a complete destruction of societal trust and understanding. Depending on your POV any number of things are at fault. It a could be that the democrats abandoned the working class, cultural backlash from immigration and the culture wars, the product of the increasing power of money to buy elections and issues, the influence of that money buying news sources to divide the culture, or the power of lobbyists and special groups over government officials... when you go over all the issues we're dealing with right now government feels pretty rotten.
So it's pretty easy to get depressed but I'm hoping that somehow things will work out since there's no way for me to predict the future. Otherwise I would get depressed every time I thought about politics and I simply can't live like that.

Don't forget the nepotism and appointing cabinet members that have 0 experience in the field they would oversee.

The good news is very little of this is particularly new, Trump has just forced issues that were flying under most people's radars into the light.
That doesn't sound like good news but it is, because a heck of a lot more people are getting involved thanks to Trump's election and subsequent actions. What matters now is whether those people have the stomach to stay involved, because political progress takes a lot of time and energy.
If you want to be one of those people there's a lot of resources springing up online if you want to participate or even run for office.

These fucking kids next door keep taunting my dog, leaning over my fence etc
Bleh. So frustrating.
She is a great dog, and would never do anything with me there. But she is also a 6 month old 60 lb Rotti-Cross, and if you taunt her and scare her she could hurt someone. She could likely rag-doll and really hurt a ~90 lb 11 year old accidentally just trying to play if they got too excited, especially since she usually plays with other big adult dogs or my freinds who are mostly larger folk.

Go to the parents ASAP and explain that their kids are in danger doing that. Hopefully they have sense and tell them to stop.
If the parents are as dumb as the kids then idk what the next step is maybe someone with experience has an idea.

If being reasonable with the parents doesn't work you can tape it with your phone and show the tape to the police.
Tell the police you don't want to press trespassing charges or anything, you just want an officer to go talk to the family to get the kids to stop for their own safety. Cops are usually happy to do things like that and the parents are more likely to listen.
And if THAT doesn't work and the kids actually get bit by your dog one day after that, you've got it on record at the police station which will help you a lot with liability, because even if the kids are coming on your yard to harass your dog it's probably still your fault if they get bit.

I feel like it just makes a bigger divide in an already divided political climate. Positive discussion and hope is more important to reduce the apathy of a large portion US population.

If the parents are as dumb as the kids then that could just lead to the parents filing a complaint that you're keeping a dangerous animal that's a danger to their kids. Plus if anything ever happens you're then on record as having told them that your dog is dangerous which can count against you.
Laws are often very much not in favour of the dog owner when there's a risk of people getting bitten/hurt.

Its kind of unfair how the local laws are, tbh.
They are pretty fair normally, but because she is half Rotti she doesn't really have a second chance because she is a "dangerous agressive breed". Which is laughable, because she isn't aggressive at all.
Any scenario where she hurt someone would be her retaliating after they misread her playing or got scared by how strong she is after they started playing and reacted in a socially unacceptable way.
I dunno, maybe I just put a back yard cam and record everything just in case. She is very well socialized and friendly.

I'd put a backyard cam in regardless if the neighbor kids can't keep to themselves.
