i mean, if you want to go down that path, literally everything is a bullshit profession because it's all built on human symbolic thought which is nothing but an arbitrary "thing" that accumulated throughout the years to produce a wholly arbitrary system that we call society.

Lol.
My oldest sister's wedding was during the Hallowpocalypse (what I've named the Oct. 28 Blizzard two years ago). Which made for some awesome wedding photos. I'm expecting a volcano to sprout in the middle of CT this weekend during sis #2's wedding.

With the somewhat controlled immigration the US has, it has the possibility to become at least an internal good socialist state. PS. right wing swedes are more left than left wing americans. What?
Also, antistress for Soniv! Damn, I listened to Hellfire Mantle's original again, it so needs a folk arrangement.

phat ipo $$$ incoming I want to learn how to stock market/invest when I get home and have money. also, could someone explain obamacare to me like I'm 6. Main points would be something like: - Individual mandate: everyone has to have a policy or pay a fine (everyone shares the risk of health issues) - No denial for pre-existing conditions (you get insurance even if you currently have something wrong) - Can stay on parents until 25 (I think) (you don't get kicked off until after your working in theory) - Implementation of online healthcare exchanges (these just facilitate everyone getting insurance) - Changes to medicare and medicaid that I wouldn't bother explaining to a six year old. (nor do have I bothered to understand) - Poorer people get subsidies to make their insurance more affordable since it's required of everyone or fine. - Standards for insurance policy changed (crappy insurance no longer allowed. thanks wei) Correct me if I'm wrong on anything, I think that's the gist.
thank you! (and wei too)

phat ipo $$$ incoming I want to learn how to stock market/invest when I get home and have money. Buy stocks in companies you know and don't have dumb financials. Things like debt and P/E ratio are pretty easy to understand. I'm a long term investor so I don't watch the market every day, I just pick stocks from companies that I like and plan on holding them for a while. Somehow, I made $2000 off the market. The biggest surprise is that Facebook is my biggest gainer, gaining 60% since I started. Stocks also make up a small part of my overall portfolio, my Roth IRA is 100% S&P Index Fund, and my "fun" investor portfolio is 50% Index Fund too. (Index Funds are mutual funds that try to match the performance of an index, like the S&P or whatever. They're usually very hard to outperform in the long run and are very easy to understand as well.) I also have a quite a bit of money locked up in savings accounts. Obviously my mentality is different than most people who day trade or frequently buy and sell, I think that's too wishy-washy and "I told you so" so I just lock it up long term. It also helps with the stress because you don't worry about day-to-day performance.
you can expect a PM in 15 months.

This is the part that kills my dad so much. He owns a small manufacturing business in my home town. Now, Connecticut in itself is awfully costly for owning a business in. But my dad prides himself on being a really good employer towards his employees, and it kills him to have to dump them into socialized health care because it's so damn expensive for him to provide them health care through the business. Americans are just very myopic. It's impossible to incur long term change on anything because of the "I WANT IT NOW" mentality. God this day is so stressful. MMLP2 is helping though (ty JonGalt)

@Ghandi the only real desert I have seen is called mafatsatutumela. it's a combination of custard, jello, fruit, mad granola type stuff. actually quite good.
also it's absurd how much of Lesotho's healthcare is paid for by America. I love that we help out but I kinda wish we just said fuck the rest of the world, fixed our shit and then helped out.

the grossest shit they eat here is papa (maize meal - think grits but dryer) with SOUR milk. like holy shit. don't do that. why. WHY!?
edit: and chicken feet. but I'd eat that everyday of the week and twice on Sundays before papa and sour milk.
