I'd be happy to do some coding or development work in my off time if you need something done on the cheap/free, PM me if you need some more tech insight. Thanks guys, I appreciate the insight and the skepticism. Like I said, this is very much in the future and I'm not even sure if I'm going to go through with it - just trying to get some ideas.

Just seems much more natural to include punctuation that isn't a part of the quote outside of the quote. I heard it has something to do with Benjamin Franklin and America being unique? Is this only done in the states?

Where did they teach you this "grammar"?

Don't know the origin, but there are 2 different interactions used between punctuation and quotations. Logical (British) quotations are considered more correct, in professional settings. Which is the punctuation outside the quotations, if it makes sense.

It's used in the place of other punctuation marks in speech within text. As so: "It's not going well," she said. "I think we are going to break up." The comma replaces the period before "she said" where the sentence would normally end for the speaker. Since nothing comes after the second sentence it ends with the period.

Yes, in the context of quotes it makes sense, but not the way Shake was describing it. That was madness. Waifuism with Req 101: Don't insult waifus if you can't take the heat.

Glad to know it's not normal then, but yeah that's how they teach it to us in school. I googled "punctuation in quotes" and the first result was this site, from which I used the example. Kinda silly they have different rules for commas/periods and questions marks.
