Then there's hosting costs. If it's just a personal thing that no one will visit you can use shared hosting for around $10-15 a month. If you have traffic plus a website that requires processing time it can start climbing.

It would be something big. Like I'd like to own it but probably hire people to work on it, an investment I guess.

Because as optimistic as you may be, what 'market' there is incredibly saturated right now. I wouldn't advise it. I've had long conversations with DURR about this.

I'd be very interested to know what you're going to capitalize on, though I can understand if you're trying to keep it a secret.

I know my age makes me sound naive but I'm at a spot where I can make this work and I'd hate to regret taking a small risk like this down the road.

Well best of luck! ![]() I remain extremely skeptical considering what I've seen of the failure rate and people's intentions and promises, but I hope to be proven wrong!

It's vague for a reason. It'll be down the line, just trying to gather some knowledge now.

Also, if it's not that complex a site someone can probably clone it really fast unless you have something magical on the backend. The network effect can help if you jump out of the gate but you have to work hard to maintain a lead. All of this will be pretty tough if you aren't able to implement this stuff yourself.

LoL still needs a Day9 IMO. Although i'm past that stage, would have been great about 6 months - a year ago. Actually who am I kidding I would still watch a Day9 style show for LoL

You may need licenses, you'll need a server (or outside hosting for the site), you'll likely need an on-call webmaster for at least the first month or so to watch for bugs and respond to users. Costs add up rather fast, depending on how fancy/simple you want it. My old consulting firm booked me out at about... $180 an hour for the first few projects? Maybe a bit higher, I can't remember. You can get amateur to do it on the cheap, likely, but still have to front the cost for technology and the like.
