I have carried the uncarryable. My team was:
1) A Gangplank who started Brawler's Gloves + 2 pots vs Riven, then went to bot lane to "trilane" before walking back to top. Riven was at that point level 3;
2) An Annie who said, "Vi, when are you going to start warding?", "Junglers are responsible for warding their lanes", and "You don't know about this? It's k, new jungler", and who, at 13 minutes, was 1/3/1 with 20 cs and only Boots and a Blasting Wand, while Diana had a Lich Bane;
3) An Ashe who tried to hide when Xin Zhao ganked by running to the bush and standing still; and
4) A Blitzcrank who "split pushed" to "create map pressure"
I don't know if this was some kind of cosmic test or something, but I CARRIED these morons to victory.

I haven't played much since the new season changes, so I am still getting used to the new portraits for everything. I also forget to take a trinket in about half my games but that has nothing to do with this story.
I take trynd top thinking I have ghost ignite, and I handle irelia pretty completely (got a few lucky crits early then kill mid after i push lane) and draw their jungler many times. Despite doing well, i am confused because my ghost doesn't seem to be making me go faster. I finally realized that i am actually cleansing and that the new portrait looks similar to the old ghost (how I missed the obvious animation earlier I have no idea, I am pretty bad if you can't tell).
At the end of the game I mention this in all chat, and my lane opponent calls me a liar (actually he called me a lier, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt and hope it was a typo). He claims that I cleansed his ignite in key moments to win our fights and was doing it intentionally. I maintain my position but he staunchly refuses to believe it and leaves the game thinking that I am trolling him.
Here here to accidentally being gosu! (Pretty much the only time I am gosu.)

Finally back in Silver after a 12/0/6 MF carry with a decent Leona.
And how fitting, I'm in "Nami's Giants" and she's my main champ.
Today is a good day :D

I finally get into Gold3 after being in my 5th series. First time not getting a DC'er and I get carried hardcore the first game and just easy mode support it the 2nd game. Don't understand the system at all. Tryhard and do well 4 series in a row fighting DC's and 0-10 feeders but then I get into the 5th series and I get the most easy games ever and I could've been afk and not tried at all. Think that's karma! Just wished it happened sooner and saved me the frustration.

Holy crap Lee, Vi, Zed, Ezreal, Soraka vs Nidalee (bruiser), Hecarim, LB, Caitlyn, Lissandra (support).
"Screw the tank meta", they said, "so we went full assassins". The teamfights were so brutal, people dying fast and everything.
Probably bad for my Vi play seeing how being able to build Locket+finish mercs in one go let me go really ham on the initiations and survive (and confirms that even fed I can't carry, just an enabler for the team to do the job), but the bloodbaths.
Fighting too much hurts the income and ability to sustain these longs fights though, the jungle changes with the conservation stacks and only really regenerating mana when you hit monsters can really make a difference.

After literally a full year stuck at the Silver I - Gold IV range, I'm finally, finally, making some progress. It feels amazing! I know that high ranked players will talk about how there's no difference between Silver and Platinum, etc. but playing at high Gold/low Platinum, the players are noticeably better, and I'm able to compete with them and hold my own. It's great 
That said, if I don't get either Nami, Shen or Quinn in any given game, I'll almost certainly be a liability.

Gold and a penta. Eh... that was very, very lucky. On both accounts. The penta was a flank initiation in their jungle, and apparently I somehow killed Trist amidst all of our focused damage (I got lucky and ended up fed as Vi because I failed to give my team the kills), then I proceeded to solo Annie who was beside Trist's landing point and try and join back with my team. There was a clusterfuck right between blue and wolves (purple side) and my Q hit all 3, killing Mundo, then I somehow got WW too amidst the burst. I heard the double and triple kill announcements and assumed Morde or Quinn was getting richer, only at the quadra did I realise it was my portrait, and we cornered Gragas in the bush opposite to outer mid, I charged my Q, got the kill somehow. Can't complain though.
After that the team started throwing though, people getting caught left and right, and we ended up defending the inhib 3v5 (I died but we aced them I believe, Morde was terrifyingly strong and Fiddle had some AP too), then the nexus turrets 2v5, with Fiddle's ult scaring them off (and most importantly killing the whole wave to stall) and me dying to get us Trist and peel WW once Morde and Quinn respawned.
... after 2 series failed to what amounted as much to griefers/throws as to getting outplayed, and the third on its way, gotta say I was getting somewhat upset.

Normal blinds, I'm jungle Lee. 3 members of my team DC so its just me and a Cait. I grab red, she grabs blue. She goes top, I basically just move between mid and bot shoving.
It's 10 minutes before Veigar reconnects-- we've only lost top tower, and I've grabbed both of our buffs. Even without a second summoner, I've managed to FB on the enemy Tristana + Thresh lane. When Veigar walks in, he baits them incredibly hard and gets the double kill.
We 3v5 for 60 minutes, I finish 27/4. Veigar is 19/2 with almost 1K AP, Cait has 500 farm but is kinda useless. Whenever Veigar stuns a squishy he instantly deletes them. Enemy team is very confused, I see their Vi buy and sell components for Randuin's and Banshee's a couple times.
tl;dr won a 2v5/ 3v5, feels good
