cant ignore that Maru did win macro games in masters colliseum too though, even though it was bo3 swiss so not playoffs.

I dont think he was hiding build, he just tried stupid ones like Widow Mines drop opening into Queen. If I were Maru, I wouldnt mind doing Mech build, but skip the Banshee and go hard to Cyclone Tanks like he did against Reynor.

Failing a proper overnight, or a properly chunky gap do you wanna sit worrying about Serral for around an hour, or get into it quickly while you’re still pumped from that 3-0?
I think this is something no matter what you do trying to cram it in to today will leave you disadvantaging people of different makeups.

I think the gap definitely favors the player who's more preperation focused.
In theory zerg would benefit the most from their opponent not getting a break, and protoss would suffer the most not getting one
