Neeb has always been an early adopter of stuff (if not necessarily an innovator). When mass oracle started to gain popularity he quickly jumped on that train.

You're making your life too easy by reducing this entire streak on a race, considering most Zerg (aka everyone but Serral and Reynor) are as far away from winning a tournament as all the other players.

Are you only including foreigners with this statement? Korean Zergs have had an amazing last 3 years. Even with foreigners it's not completely accurate. Elazer made the finals of GSL vs The World last year. While his bracket wasn't super impressive in terms of prestige of the event itself I'd argue that's the best result of any foreigner not named Serral or Reynor in the last 3 years. Then you have Scarlett winning that IEM event in 2018 which is probably the next best result for a foreigner after that.

Yeah, I forgot about the Scarlett run. That was - however - just a few months later than the Neeb victory in late 2017 (last non-Korean tournament 2017 vs. 2nd non-Korean tournament 2018). And since that tournament, Showtime was in a final once and lost to Serral, Mana was in a final once and lost to Serral, Has was in a final once and lost to Serral, Special was in a final once and lost to Serral, Elazer was in a final once and lost to Serral. No other Zerg ever reached te finals.

And yes, I'm excluding the Korean tournaments, because there are definitely some non-Zerg winners in Korean tournaments. Probably even more Terran winners than Zerg winners in the comparable timespan (beginning of 2018 to today).

edit: it's actually completely even in terms of Korean championships between Zerg and Terran.

Is that only counting GSL events? If you count blizzcon, IEM, and WESG there's no way that's accurate.

Also I'd be curious how often Elazer, Lambo, Scarlett etc were eliminated in bracket vs each other and Serral/Reynor I'd guess it was a lot.

If you really think it's just Serral and Reynor tell me what do you think would happen if we removed the top 2 foreign players of each race from consideration do you really think Zerg would have had the worst results? Take out Serral, Reynor, Clem (Heromarine before this year), Special, Neeb, Showtime. You really don't think Elazer, Lambo, Scarlett don't start winning the majority of foreign only events? I'll admit I don't believe they'd dominate the way Serral and Reynor have or even close but I still do believe they would have won more than 1/3 of the events by a fairly significant percent.

That's what makes them as dominant as they are. They just don't lose to anyone aside from each other.

And to your question: I think that's hard to judge, because there are races that do really well in different regions. Europe has always been all about Zerg. Even when the Korean Terrans dominated like crazy, European tournaments were all about Zerg. I would therefore agree that Zerg would still win quite a lot in this region, if we cut the top 2 of each race. In Korea on the other side, Zerg would probably do the worst among all three races if we did the same. Losing Dark and Rogue would be the complete downfall of the race, imo. USA is probably the hardest to judge. Although I'd argue it's hard to cut 6 players in NA and still have a decent tournament at this moment.
