I think Mana, Ptitdrogo, and Elazer are going to have extremely uphill fights against whoever they face off against. Best of luck to them! An upset would be pretty awesome. Through his performance in Dreamhack and the ESL weekly cups, I think Heromarine has pretty much secured #3 in Europe over Clem, if nothing else than his sheer consistency. Clem has a better chance against the top players (at least Serral), but Heromarine is more consistent and always wins against players he *should* win against. On the American side, hoping that Astrea can become a new American champion. When's the last time it was not Neeb or Scarlett?

On the American side, hoping that Astrea can become a new American champion. When's the last time it was not Neeb or Scarlett? Glad you asked. Here's a short list of all recent premier/major NA tourneys, inclusive of WCS challengers and qualifiers to WESG finals: DH Summer 2020 NA: Neeb *4-1 Astrea (Neeb started 1-0 due to upper bracket rule) WESG 2019 NA Qualifier: Neeb 4-0 Scarlett WCS 2019 Fall NA Challenger: Neeb 4-0 Scarlett WCS 2019 Summer NA Challenger: Neeb 4-0 Scarlett WCS 2019 Spring NA Challenger: Neeb 4-0 Jonsnow WCS 2019 Winter Americas: Neeb 4-2 Scarlett WESG 2018 USA Qualifier: Neeb 3-0 Silky WESG 2018 Canada Qualifier: Masa 3-1 Scarlett WCS 2018 Montreal NA Challenger: Neeb 4-0 Scarlett WCS 2018 Valencia NA Challenger: TRUE 4-1 Nina And so, there's your answer: the last time was in June 2018 when TRUE won in an NA tournament that had both Neeb and Scarlett in it. Unless we count WESG 2018 Canada Qualifier, but that one didn't have Neeb in it nor was there a decider match between the USA and Canada champions for that year. Fun fact: prior to that, the last time it wasn't Neeb or Scarlett was in WCS 2017 Valencia NA Challenger. Masa beat Scarlett 3-1 in the final. The last time Scarlett won an NA major/premier was WCS 2017 Jönköping NA Challenger, unless the WESG 2019 Canada Qualifier is counted.

You can just watch the vod back, but I remember Aqueron doing a comitted attack in which he missed his upgrade lead timing, then Gabe held with a bit of trouble, but as Aqueron didnt have his armory by the time Heromarine had his 2/2 the upgrade lead was just too big and Gabe won with his following push

You got Showtime vs Clem, think it’s the highlight of the playoff bracket thus far too! Got to agree on HeroMarine, I can’t really think of a player who’s so consistent against players he’s expected to beat while reasonably rarely being able to push past players he’s the underdog against. Wonder if it’s a stylistic thing with his approach as much as any skill thing, he’s really bloody solid but he doesn’t have that a Clem micro X factor, or maybe cuts the corners that you need to if you’re playing someone who is stronger at the fundamentals than you are.
