There is now enough high level players and fresh blood in EU to allow the top players to improve collectively at a very high pace. Its just Serral and Reynot doing well don't exagerate lol.

It also helps that the scene is very euro-centric right now, the big tournaments are generally hosted in EU. Most of these online events happen at good time for EU, bad time for KR also in the middle of a GSL season.

You can't fall behind macro wise and you are stuck with the same units as opponent, so if you dont micro better you have a problem. Yeah no, this has been shown time and time again. Mirror matchups tend to be closer between openents that are otherwise vastly apart in skill based on the other MUs. Mechanics can be very easily overcome by tactics or build orders. In TvT and PvP it's a bigger deal, you often see weaker players take series off 'better' ones, but it applies to ZvZ as well. Players like Elazer and Lambo aren't likely to make a scratch against the top terrans or protosses, but them winning against any zerg isn't a suprise.

Wonder if anyone has screen-per-minute stats for these kind of things It would be pretty interesting indeed. Serral might be very sightly better than him mechanically but this impression might be caused by the playstyle of both players, Serral focus a lot on the standart/defensive zerg gameplay with a lot of emphasis on the creep while Reynor is more agressive and tend to lose a bit more glings in consequence. (these traits really remind Life, I dismissed it in the past because he was still not at this level but nowadays...)

Those guys are the best but that's also due to the fact they have decent practice partners. Elazer, Lambo, Clem, ShoWTimE, HeRoMaRinE, uThermal, souL are all players that are capable of taking games if not series from top Koreans these days imo.
