Tempests are expensive but also fragile. They don't deal well with upgraded EMP + vikings. Carriers are a lot bulkier and they also have amazing DPS. I used to be scared when I saw tempests in late game TvP but these days it just doesn't worry me. | ||

Going carrier just makes soul bunch up his libs which then deal great with interceptors meaning you have to build phoenix as well to deal with that.. Soul just sniped way too many bases and mana's income went to 0 I don't think he had to go air at all. He had a nice position, reinforce your bases, send DTs to harass, control your army (colo HTs disruptors + gateway) nicely. Of course this is not easy to do, but I don't think the tempests helped in any way | ||
