INno-uT-Trap, I'm probably wrong on all three
|
Would be amazing to see Elazer beat Inno but I Don t realy see that coming here, even while he seems to be quite strong in a more preperation heavy tournament.. Zest should be able to adjust to uThermal unless he get mentally brocken by today defeat in GSL qualifier.. if Special shares the replays of today with uThermal that might look differently though.. I still Don t belive in Traps PvZ, so Soo to the Finals is actually my most confident pick, eben though I see hin as the weakest Player out of everyone left here
|
INnoVation is at peak form right now. His series against Reynor was a testament to his craftiness. A transition into mass widow mine?? Guys, the machine is learning!!! Also, it's not just macro anymore. His micro is looking crisp too. He's by far the best mech terran versus Zerg.
Zest has been also very crisp. UThermal has been really impressing me with his form lately, but Zest is best.
I keep wanting Trap to be the new Jin Air guy... It's possible but ZvP has always been Soo's best matchup (since going to T3 is pretty much entirely optional in the matchup). That one's kind of a toss up. I'm actually gonna go out on a limb at bet on Trap. Jin Air has to be frustrated at being overshadowed by DPG, so they're probably practicing hard again.

Zest currently streaming his ladder session for practice xD

Please don't make any bold predictions, Rotti :p
Edit: Well, I had hoped he wouldn't go uThermal>Zest
|
Looking forward to some good matches today.
Would have loved to cheer for soO by displaying a crisp Afreeca Freecs flair on my profile though. one might have thought that TSL5 would be a great occasion to update the list of team flairs

Cmon Elazer

Wow, completely outclassed.
|
something something absolutely insane, never seen it lose
|
Elazer is really desperately trying to make something out of nothing here for the 2nd game in a row.
|
That series went as expected.

Aww man Elazer got stomped

Somehow Elazer reminds me of a Zerg version of Mana.

These guys are crazy! I like Tods analogy of 2 boxers with no guard just constantly punching each others face.

The point is to kill the other guy, why spend energy on defending yourself when you could spend it on making the other guy less alive?

zest DTs are somehow stronger than the usual

Uthermal playing a (relatively) standard tvp just doesn't feel right.

It's certainly not how you win games in the TSL

just curious, are the koreans playing on high ping?
|
Zest is best at losing to Uthermal allins after scouting them.

As far as I know series are played on a server that minimizes/evens out ping for both players

since when Woody Harrelson starts casting Starcraft 2 games?

He didn't scout it tho, he scouted a marauder which is super uncommon and probably expected a rax push, not a super early marauder tank push.

I missed the game. what happened? Innovation mind tricking again?

Somehow I still have the ability to be disappointed by TSL5 results and game-quality. I would have thought i'd be immune by now

One of the best grand finals matchups in a long time IMO

Biggest mistake of SC2 esports was never making a serious push for more team games. Obviously 2v2v2v2 is a joke format but Archon Mode or 2v2 could be really fun to watch in a serious setting

I actually agree, the RTS game balanced around 2/2 not 1/1 could be both fun and big.

There were serious attempts to make 2v2 and whatnot competitive, but none of them stuck

Seems like it would be hell to balance. 1v1 has only 3 non-mirror matchups, for 2v2 this rises to .. well a lot

Core issue is balance details being static between 1v1 and team games. Any given unit could be busted in a team mode but terrible 1v1, theoretically. I fully understand it's hell to balance and hard to make work, but it still feels sad
|
A game like that would need to be designed from the scratch as 2/2. Doesnt necesserily need to look anything like SC. Could be designed around roles rather then races like Dota/LoL are --> You need to pick a certain role for Your team from large rooster of available 'races'. Dota/Lol are doing very good even when meta is obviously skewed towards certain champions because with bans and rotating picks You the teams end up more or less balanced.

Still there is something going on with "siesta" and "shadow" here that we are missing, since the two are obviously connected. Something subliminal about shadow stride and chilling out...

Zest playing single campaign mode with a win condition of "stay alive with 1000 minerals by 10 minutes".

Inno has been going for these scv-pull all-ins since at least 2018. But tbh I can't remember him consistently doing anything else for the whole of LotV.

Sure, but it seems to me that the huge power shifts depending on how much splash protoss has out makes this a lot worse, and tilts the meta towards these tank all-ins =/

Zest always has this habit of floating minerals as a reactive tactic to build the right composition at the right time. Seems questionable when he loses, but he has successes to back up. Just Zest being Zest.

But I do think something needs to be done with the mass disruptor interaction as well now that liberators have less range.

Nope. This definitely feels strange compared to how packed the first weekends were.
Is Day9 coming to cast tomorrow? Or is it ZG/Rotti?
