I blew major advantages in all the 3 maps lost. Both Reynor and Solar told me afterwards that I should've won. Gotta try harder next time, alas, knocking two maps off him is already beyond what I expected. All the foreign and Korean players said I did good enough.

I don’t understand what the issue is with his accent (heard this complaint a lot), DeMusliM, Kaelaris, Apollo, TB et al have accents that aren’t a million miles away from Grant’s. I’ve enjoyed his casting thus far, I like that he actually asks questions out of Lambo that kind of bridge the gap between casual knowledge and professional player levels of knowledge. I’m not overly fussy on casting I suppose, worst I tend to feel is ‘I wish this other caster I prefer was here’, not the ‘I had to mute the stream’ hyperbole I see all the time. Are other eSports like this with casters? SC2’s community is historically brutal to them in totally unproductive ways, I can only compare it to regular sport ball where commentators generally aren’t discussed at all (plus are bigger so there’s not really a community link between viewers and casters) Other esport community are harshed on their casters but generally not that bad. On the other hand I wish we had some of the CS casters/desk talent for SC2. Generally speaking being funny/insightful both for the masses and people who know the game inside out while having impeccable presentation skills is a pretty inhumane combo to begin with. As long as casters are catering to some segment of the audience while being bearable by the rest it's ok. That said I generally mute 90% of the esport casters when I watch a stream. Desk is sometimes alright, especially when it's filled with ex Pro and has good tool at his disposition (weatherman segments are amazing if done properly)

"annoying British accent" is also a pretty, well, annoying thing to say. what's he supposed to do, try to put on a fake accent for you? i found the Brexit reference a bit out of place, but funny cause it felt genuine and it's a pretty amusing situation to make a comment like that as a Brit in front of a European audience. but i can see people wanting to keep politics and sc2 apart. The problem with political jokes are that most of the time you piss people off (and other laughs or don't care). Think it's the first time I heard a political joke on a SC stream and I hope it will be the last one because it really felt out of place as you said.

I never minded the voices of demuslim, or any of the other casters you mentioned. I guess this Grant fellow just has a particularly heavy accent that those others don't. It didn't help that he kept a monotonous dreary tone, as if he was a news reporter broadcasting an impending global nuclear catastrophe or something. I love Lambo's casting, so it bugged me that it was so starkly contrasted.

Thanks for this. I kinda agree. Games 1 and 4 were obvious throws and the last game he caught Serral by suprise so definitely had an advantage there as well. But in all those games he made 1 crucial mistake and Serral immediately capitalized on that. I think this all proves just how insanely good Serral is. Cant wait for the games against Stats ![]()
