Real question is more like how dominant Serral actually is, currently, and in foreseeable future.

I have rooted for every top non-korean zerg for almost 20 years (and every big zerg since h.o.t-forever period).
Serral just being one of the best is enough for me. From Blackman and Mondragon ... on and on until now.... we finally have one.

You might be true about the hype(and do you really wonder why when Starcraft has been totally dominated by koreans for more than a decade?), but on the other hand the non koreans who proved himself multiple times are still regarded as somehow inferior even when they shouldn't be.

He's been fighting his way through the whole lower bracket. If he makes the finals he will also have defeated soO and TY. There's really nothing easy about that.
