This will be fun. I hope Serral won't get Protossed though! In fact, a dominating 4-0 would be to my liking even though the games would be shit I guess. Second place either Harstem or Gungfu is fine for me.
The Americas group seems tough to predict... I think TIME and Kelazhur are the favourites to advance, but I'm not up to date with the US players performances.
|
Serral won't get out of the group today. Calling it now
|
Finally Serral! RO32 second last group and now in the last group. Its been long wait.
|
ITS STARTING HYPE MOTHERFUCKERS
|
double forge collo, Rail already launching the ruski builds

That wasnt even close. Not suprise at all.

I lol'd. Serral!!! Hope this goes on like this.

Verdi gets good trades with phoenixes, but he isn't making probes so it doesn't matter anyway.

I would prepare a few all in's against zerg and that's it.
|
Verdi playing decent but will he be ready for broodlords this time?
|
|
Uhoh, protossed the first!
|
Oh wow
It's getting interesting

i stopped watching SC2 before Serral became truly relevant and only came back like a couple months ago. it was surreal to find out he randomly became the most dominant player in the world. i went back and watched the Blizzcon finals and that was some impressive play for sure.
other than that his only games i've seen have been these WCS groups, where he's certainly looked like a top EU player, but it's kinda hard to truly gauge someone's level when they're facing competition that is good, but not top of the world good. in this match i've been seeing a rather competitive match with Verdi, which is kind of what i would have expected from what i had known about Serral before returning.
obviously a couple games in an online tournament mean anything at all compared to the domination Serral has presented the world with over the last couple years or so. just ramblings from a kind of outside perspective.
|
Great read from Serral, star sense...

That was exciting though even though all three games were pretty one sided.
I think Gungfubanda and Harstem could play some good games.
|
Serral was playing so passively in the first 2 games, not sure why, his map presence is what makes him so dominant in zvz/ zvp.
|
Serral lost a map? How did that happen?

Serral drops maps kind of often, that's why he's not first on Aligulac.

Okay, thanks!

Weird game 3, but I like it so far!
|
Serral playing --> 26k on the main stream
|
WOW, destroyed! SERRRAAAL
|
I like how Harstem saw the nydus and had immortal popping close to it and still didn't kill it on time
it's not that hard guys

Just tuned in, hows Serral looking so far? Like the demigod at Blizzcon? Or like someone who came just from vacation?

Hard to say, he's winning and play good builds, I won't pretend I can say if he's playing the same or worst than 5 months ago.

Almost 28k on the mainstream when Serral is playing
|
GG Serral, wp by Rail though to take off a game with a nice timing.

Fake zerg drops should be more of a thing

We need a Serral-Scarlett grand final at the end of both region WCS for the biggest number. Her shitty series vs Ragnarok in GSL round of 32 has already 50k on youtube

Still too early though, it's still very possible he won't be dominating this year. So far he's still looking great though.

I meant at the end of WCS Winter, they have a good shot of being the champ of their respective region, they should do a final bo7 between the two winner just for fun.

Have any of those types of showmatches ever been good though?

Serral is disappointed in his play, we can confirmed everything is back to normal

Serral wins versus B level pros on the foreign scale and is still disappointed. Serral still guud.

No. Game was continued but Harstem could not defend against Rail's push.

This looks like it's going to be the longest day so far... many 2-1s in Europe and now pretty long games in Americas so far.
Astrea is doing really well tbh.

Yes, well done rallying after a few screw up he got himself in a kind of dubious situation when he hesitated with his army in the middle and lost everything in the main but it still wasn't enough for Kelazhur - guess he had suffered far too much economic damage + fought behind on upgrades all game long

The upgrade difference was enough to make Zealots essentially bulletproof.

the 100mineral-immortals... painfull

Americas games so far have been pretty fun, there have been a decent amount of misplays sure, but at least they weren't from one player only. ^^

This is a very NA game.
Ziggy could've made ro8 here.

but was fun to see a 3 rax reaper opening again...

Lool, nice viper control.

Just gonna say it, not a fun time to be a Zerg player lmao

Time choked this game - I don't know what he was trying to do with his tank play, but it was hard countered by the disruptor composition, and he didn't manage the army very well.
