Excellent. Good thing we sent Avilo to bm people in Nation Wars.

I feel like his SCV's were his most effective unit for stopping Zealots and Adepts.

If USA qualify for Paris, the live reaction to Avilo presence might get problematic to be honest.

The picture for this is dope.

Is that the Bismarck?

I'm rooting for Germany ( <3 TLO and Showtime ), but this is too tempting to not post:

Duuuuude. Uthermal's pushes are so stylistic. There's so many aspects of Terran play that I feel like good strategic pushing hasn't been something really highlighted since WoL (aside from in TvT sometimes). That hard contain with bunkers, tanks and liberators was epic.

I feel bad for Showtime, he was so desparete for the win. Too bad his two teammates wanted to troll Avilo in the losers bracket instead.

TLO has to build up confidence first before facing the Netherlands. If he beats avilo, maybe he can take on Rotti.

What did he say about protoss ?
The problem tho is that he he is worse than probably every protoss in ro16 teams so he he has no real right to complain and people will obviously mock him if he does this against a pro.

When it's Maru that says he doesn't want to play TvP, people won't be as salty.

Apart from reddit always being mad at avilo it's probably partly because of the follow-up twitter whining about Protoss, casters, people criticizing him etc.

There should be some safety net to avoid having players like him be on national rosters. What if Neeb somehow manages to carry the team to Paris? Having him onstage would be...interesting.

Apparently avilo in-person is a reasonably sane and normal human being. Or at least that's what the people who met him at that Philadelphia tournament (Cheesedelphia or something) said.

to get all pop psychology-y he strikes me as someone who is a nice, quiet person offline who could stand to be a bit more voluble and assertive in personal interactions

like a lot of people who are loud and brash and abrasive online are, because they aren't more that way offline

he did what he was voted into nationwars to do, it is what it is blah blah blah

Well, if you don't want to pick the players people voted for, you can either

- handpick the teams yourself or
- have short qualifiers for each team

I have watched few Avilo streams in the past and that guy trully just complains about everything, let's hope the guy can win a game or two just so the viewers gets fueled.

Showtime is playing with fire here... He could have killed Avilo a long time ago. Now he is playing right into his stronger cards. I mean, he is still 100x better player and probably will still win, but Avilo is not bronze he should not underestimate him like this

Okay NVM At least a decent and interesting game though

Was Showtime not worried about that nuke that landed near his army or was he just unaware? If the latter, that was so close to being amazing.

It's kind of his gimmick, saddly he could probably be quite a good player if he was willing to adapt instead of just rage

I'd say GM is pretty decent.

He's high master/low GM on NA I think. He's a good player but not exactly something to be amazed over. Didn't Parting troll on NA after he came back and end up rank one?

I mean, it was quite an antliclimatic game where both players turtled until Showtime got too bored and attacked...

Well in 2 WCS tournaments it was just Neeb. Playing Neeb twice cause Neeb didn't win groups.

I don't think so. Neeb outplayed Serral at Katowice then Serral stomped him in WeSG. When you factor in that ZvP is zerg favoured as well it's quite close between them.

Winning the game until technical issues result in you losing an entire army still counts as outplaying in my eyes. He should have won that series 2-1.

Neeb was the one who lost his army because of it. Maybe it effected Serral as well, sure, but it didn't literally make him lose the game from a winning position. Neeb was winning until that happened, hence why I say while Serral technically won the series, Neeb was better in terms of performance.

serral was the one with the issues as well. it could have well affected him the whole time. neeb didn't complain iirc, but correct me if i'm wrong.

The rest of the group was either pure zerg (Serral's best MU), or Zest (who can't play PvZ) so it's really not suprising. It's not like Neeb did that badly either, if not for the technical issues vs Serral he would've gotten out the group.

I'm not sure what you're trying to get at here. I'm just saying the performances of Neeb and Serral weren't that far apart despite the score indicating otherwise. Nerchio got stomped by most of the players iirc. Neeb would have beaten Serral and gotten out the group if not for technical issues, which has nothing to do with skill.

I don't think so. Neeb outplayed Serral at Katowice then Serral stomped him in WeSG. When you factor in that ZvP is zerg favoured as well it's quite close between them.

he outplayed serral at Katowice by losing?

Winning the game until technical issues result in you losing an entire army still counts as outplaying in my eyes. He should have won that series 2-1.

ah right cause it always affects only one player

Neeb was the one who lost his army because of it. Maybe it effected Serral as well, sure, but it didn't literally make him lose the game from a winning position. Neeb was winning until that happened, hence why I say while Serral technically won the series, Neeb was better in terms of performance.

and he sure showed it by outplaying the rest of his group as did serral

The rest of the group was either pure zerg (Serral's best MU), or Zest (who can't play PvZ) so it's really not suprising. It's not like Neeb did that badly either, if not for the technical issues vs Serral he would've gotten out the group.

Nerchio outplayed that group, but he had to play his weakest matchup and zvz vs rogue and serral :/

Nerchio had a very close series vs Neeb if not for 1 bad decision in game 3 :/
Artur got robbed by format. Truly he showed excellent form.
He also would've won vs rogue if not for obvious randomness in zvz which has nothing to do with skill

Well with this double upgrade nerf for hydras, it becomes ridiculous, the charge come too soon and storm finish before the upgrades finish.

Charge must be delayed, you can't have such an upgrade that turn zealots into beasts that just cost 100/100 and come this early.

1v1 against each other they are pretty close, but in the overall picture Serral has been doing way better in the recent past.

He hasn't won anything in ages, comparable to Demuslim I guess. Lambo would be the 2nd/3rd best German I would think.

He was close to win still, he just forgot to upgrade armour.

Wasn't really what he was trying. He failed to finish him off, he was very close to doing it. Losing the prism changed the game completely.

I didn't see games 1 or 2 (at the event they only showed game 3 on the main stage), but Neeb was certainly winning that last map. The observer lagging out cost him a group of immortals and the recall timer, which he had ready to use on his main army. His army then got surrounded and died as a result. If the lag never happened Neeb was on track to win the series 2-1. That's why I say in terms of actual performance he really was outdoing Serral that game.

Wasn't it a lag screen like normal? The game didn't just skip forward 20 seconds without neeb being able to control his army, right? I guess he just forgot about the immortals during the lag.

Neeb vs Serral was a joke for Neeb, he stomped Serral game 1, but threw game 2 and 3, I'm a Neeb fan but after rewatching the VODs for game 2 and 3 he did not deserve that win at all, lag or not. He could've won 2-0, but he fuking threw game 2, and that's on him

I didn't see the series, but Neeb totally outplayed Serral in that one game he lost. - said the interdimensional traveller from Earth 2715.87, where Neeb beat Serral and made Katowice 2018 playoffs.

Which is why hes talking about the game he saw..and he's completely right. Obs should pause the game after someone drops off like that.

And after using the recall I guess he should've retreated with his main army the second he did that instead of 8 seconds later.
