Sick thread! Thanks for making it, I literally just started making one too :D. Will you make one the other days as well Panda?
A few points:
- Twitch.tv/WESG_SC2_2 will NOT be used. The secondary English stream will be Twitch.tv/BaseTradeTV. - *All matches* will be streamed, either on /WESG_SC2 or /BaseTradeTV (or one of the various community streams). This is the full schedule (in case of two matches in one slot, BaseTrade will cast the second one):
12:00 SC2 – GrA | Minato vs Namshar 12:45 SC2 – GrA | Stephano vs Elazer 13:30 SC2 – GrB | Rail vs uThermal & SC2 – GrA | Minato vs Zerghamdi 14:15 SC2 – GrB | Bly vs Lillekanin & SC2 – GrA | Stephano vs Namshar 15:00 SC2 – GrB | Rail vs Reynor & SC2 – GrA | Elazer vs Zerghamdi 15:45 SC2 – GrB | Bly vs uThermal & SC2 – GrA | Stephano vs Minato 16:30 SC2 – GrB | Reynor vs Lillekanin & SC2 – GrA | Elazer vs Namshar 17:15 SC2 – GrB | Bly vs Rail & SC2 – GrA | Stephano vs Zerghamdi 18:00 SC2 – GrB | uThermal vs Lillekanin & SC2 – GrA | Elazer vs Minato 18:45 SC2 – GrB | Bly vs Reynor & SC2 – GrA | Namshar vs Zerghamdi 19:30 SC2 – GrB | Rail vs Lillekanin 20:15 SC2 – GrB | uThermal vs Reynor
Apologies for the formatting, I'm no FO-nTTaX...
I'm in Barcelona as the admin for StarCraft II, players are currently setting up and everything looks good. If you want to come see the matches you can! The event takes place in the NH Collection Tower Hotel & Convention Center. Address : Gran Via, 144, 08907 Hospitalet de Llobregat, Spain. There's a viewing area for visitors.

With 12 players advancing to the global finals from this event it looks like WESG is going to be sick this year. This must mean that at least 12 players (probably more) advance from Korea. With that massive price pool this should be a top priority for all players and give us an awesome event.
Blizzard should award the winner a direct spot at Blizzcon just like with IEM. Then they could just give the two regions 7 spots each and let the two winners of IEM and WESG qualify regardless of region.

Traditionally Spain made such problems looks easy, just coinflip! Strelok and Lucifron would approve

Much better this time!
2.1.4 Group results are determined as follows. Each match win awards 1 point, a loss 0 points. Players will be ranked according to points scored. Ties in the groups are resolved as follows: 2.1.4.1 If two players have the same amount of points, their head-to-head result determines their order in the ranking. 2.1.4.2 If three, four or five players have the same amount of points, the following rules determine their order in the ranking (in order of importance): ● Game score based on the total group results. ● Points based on matches between the tied players only. ● Game score based on the matches between the tied players only. ● If more than two players are still tied then round-robin Bo1 tie-breaker matches shall be played with the tied players. The admins will decide the match order. If after application of the above rules only two players are tied, two-player tie-breaker rules (see above) will be applied.

That was the worst oracle play I've ever seen. Ever.
And I do watch LRTL.

Infestors completely negating the possibility of going BCs.
|
nice tie possible between namshar, stephano and minato
|
This Reynor Lillekanin is probably the most passive LotV game I've ever seen.

why is last year's african champ playing in EU?

If namshar and stephano both 2-0 zerghamdi, then depending on if minato takes 1 map from elazer, minato advances as second and namshar 3rd? If elazer wins 2-0 then its an exact 3-way to between namshar, stephano and minato in which case they go into tie breakers?
|
Bly not doing anything absolutely insane? Has he ever not done something like that?
|
That hold by Rail. Had he not lost 16 probes in the main, he's in an almost unlosable position.

...what about Elazer vs Minato and Namshar vs Zerghamdi on stream B?
|
the map loss vs zerghamdi could cost stephano big time

We were informed the main stream would be taking them.

New stalkers are pretty good against mutas, especially when fighting by a shield battery.

Bly got way too good of baneling hits there.
|
What the hell was Rail thinking there? Pushing into lurkers? He was super ahead and now he isn't.
|
My God, I don't think I've seen a player so bad against lurkers as Rail.
|
Man it feels like stephano gets more stupid ZvZ groups or ZvZ opponents than any other Zerg ive ever seen :D Sucks so hard that he keeps getting that match up, hope all works out and he can still make it out :o
|
Zerghamdi wooo, gogo ! Sick play btw :D

Damn Zerghamdi isn't half bad!
|
I am surprised 8 of the foreigners are not zergs.
|
Hot damn. Zerghambi has to be kicking himself for that last game.
Shame.

That was way too close for comfort for Namshar.
|
Does Rail hate Tempests or something? He'd already be out of this group had he made them against Bly's lurkers/broodlords.
|
Unless I'm mistaken in my reading of the tie breakers, Reynor either gets out in 1st if he wins or drops to 4th and is eliminated with a loss.
edit: Rotti confirms.
|
Reynor not handling the hellions well.

Hey, it's Valdes. Long time no see.
|
I don't normally root for Zergs not named Rogue, but I kind of hope Reynor wins just because he's not eligible for WCS as he's still not 16.
|
Welp, Reynor completely falls apart to a hellion drive by/liberator after going 2-base spire.
|
Who advances between Bly and Rail if Reynor wins 2-1? I would assume Bly because he has more game wins and the head-to-head.
|
That was pretty sick from Reynor.
