Not really. He'll do it by ending the group stage with at least 4 wins, the quarterfinals with 3, the semifinals with 3, and the finals with 4. So he'll win the whole thing by winning either 14 or 15 games.
You are technically correct. The best kind of correct.

What's the average game length going to be for TY Snute? I'd set the O/U at 20 minutes and consider betting the over.
Tons!!!! Mainly because I think it'll be the last tournament to use it (It's had a good year!) so I figure it'll retire. Give it a good retirement party!
Hoping for the Snute win, how can you not root for him!

I doubt we'll see Abyssal Reef quite that often. We have 6 series and we will see 2 or 3 maps for each of them. Popularity-wise the maps go Abyssal > A2A > Odyssey > Mech Depot >> Acolyte > Interloper >>> Catallena, but Abyssal isn't that much more popular than A2A or Odyssey.
If I had to bet I'd bet on 4 games on Abyssal Reef (one of them due to Abyssal being the third map in a 2-0 bo3, and one of them due to it not being picked during a PvT).
Thinking of the WCS Global Finals being decided by a game on either Interloper or Catallena makes me wish the map pool were 2 maps larger. Yeah, choosing something like Frost or Whirlwind would give us maps we've seen a million times, but we are going to see the same few maps over and over. If Blizzard wanted to keep the pool smallish to be easier for the players to prepare, they could just swap those 2 out.

Which is why we should have a ladder pool of size 11 (or 9 or 13) and make tournament map pools a subset of that pool. Tournaments could thus avoid maps that are failures, and also have some leeway to select a balanced pool.
Also I don't think Frost or Whirlwind would fix anything, since they're pretty bad. Whirlwind was part of the super tournament pool and was vetoed a ton.

A larger ladder pool would be better though of course if you only use a subset, you'll likely have players complain that the maps which blatantly favor their race are not included.
I mentioned Frost and Whirlwind since they have been included in the map pools of recent Korean tournaments and are ones most pros have played a million times. There are probably dozens of more interesting maps that could be chosen.
