Not sure where this belongs but Rifkin constantly distracting from the game is very irritating to me as a viewer. It is always the same pattern. ZG is commenting normally, then Rifkin interrupting her with

a) laughing about something some random person typed in chat, usually with no explation for people who don't read chat.
b) interrupting ZG with just laughing from the off about who knows what without any proper explanation, after he hasn't said anything for 5 minutes. This is by far the worst.
c) performance issues or organization stuff
d) some other stuff that he just had in mind

Then 2-5 minutes pass in which both talk about whatever and completely stop paying attention to the game and when they try to come back the game is often decided and neither of them has any idea what happened. Tech switches, battles, base or tech snipes... everything gets not only ignored by them but it is obvious that they also miss it. This usually gets commented with "it looks like..." because they have no clue what actually happened in the game.

A few month ago I really enjoyed the banter when it happened a few times during a cast at unimportant parts of a game. But by now they barely finish a game without Rifkin's interruptions and these interruptions come at any time, no matter what the game state is.

While you may have a problem overall, you chose the wrong fuckin day to complain haha. It was 100% me that did the things you listed out - literally laughing at the chat or causing Rifkin to get distracted.

Occasionally we receive this feedback (with less outright vitriol to Rifkin) and have to gauge if we're really going over the line or simply presenting the usual BTTV experience. Today's cast was a little overboard, but over the last two dozen casts I don't think we've been "more than usual".

@Jacenoob I love how people often say "they are commenting", instead of commentating, when referring to casters.

I am bumping this because of the recent thread about ZG on reddit. Aside from Avilo you are literally the only popular person in the entire SC2 scene who can go to the SC2 Reddit and get downvoted. This is unusual because by default any caster or pro player will have a lot of fans who will upvote any post of them, regardless of content. Think about it, it might be a good idea to change your behavior. I have mainly two points to make.

1. One reason is that like above, you are awful at dealing with criticism. Starting fights is just stupid, from your point. A person called you "not a very good caster" and got lots of upvotes for it. In the same post he even thanked you for what you have for the scene. What is the point of discussing and fighting? There is nothing to gain. Replies like that are highly unprofessional and even more unnessecary.
You have to learn that the only response to criticism that you feel is unjustified is to either ignore it or to say an empty phrase like "thanks for the feedback we will be trying to improve" and then change nothing. This is simply how it is done, it saves time and trouble and leaves everyone happy. Example:

Z: Hey Blizzard, Marauders should shoot up.
B: Thanks for the idea, we will consider it.

2. The other reason is simply that you are not a very good caster, despite the fact that you have a pleasant voice and could be one. This is not a Supernovamaniac thing, who just wasn't born to be a caster.

What bothers me and many others about your casting (as seen on reddit) is that you are constantly distracting from the game, for example with twitch chat. I do not mind a laid-back approach but if you just don't take the games serious at all, then how is the audience supposed to care about the games.

You make a tournament, you find sponsors, you pay a co-caster, you give out a prize pool, organize games, organize lobbies, dates, mods and what other shit needs to be done, only so that players can play professionally. And the players in your tournaments have trained very hard and usually do their best to move on to the next round. And then 5000 people tune in. So I think even in round one of a qualifier all games are IMPORTANT and deserve full attention! There is more than enough time for jokes and twitch spam in between games, in turtle games and during the first 3 minutes of the games. The Tastosis approach is simply the right thing to do. Make jokes, talk trash, but as soon as something important might happen, stop and call it and don't go back. Missing crucial upgrades, timings, tech switches or worker kills because someone on twitch chat made a joke seems just odd, given how much work was put into making the game happen in the first place.
