Depends his group I think. He's never going to be top 4 or something like that but there are people that he can beat in there.

Agreed, he showed some weaknesses in game 3 and 4 and, without any disrespect for his performance, INno was not at his best, forgetig liberator range in game 5 + very slow reaction time to every drop during the whole series cost him his spot in GSL...

Still, his build are very good (every T should get ready to get disruptor drops in every ladder game...) and he's obviously very smart, hope we'll see a lot of Stork this season...
Dear INno and all the former STX boys.

I didn't watch Inno vs stork but from Inno's past matches, I think he's simply slumping right now. In a couple of months he should be back to top form. On the other hand, I'm actually really happy for stOrk! This may be one of his few opportunities to shine. I was kinda sad when I saw that both players I like had to play against each other, but I know Innovation is going to become a top terran soon. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think the same could be said about stOrk, so, yay.

Imagine if we see Stork in a GSL finals. That would be so sick!

Nice, first time I genuinely hope that a protoss wins vs terran, gogo stork!
So... what that make you? Good? You're not good. You just know how to hide, how to lie

I wonder what would've happened if Innovation had gotten Liberator range. He was pretty heavy on them the entire game and from the previous game it looked like he would take the game. Strange that he didn't get it since you actively deploy them all the time an see the range.

Either way, great play by Stork!

you need a fusion core to get range + heavily cut into your liberator production since you need a techlab for it.
I don't think it's worth getting it unless the game gets SUPER late at which point protoss normally has lots of tempests which kinda invalidate liberators anyway.
Having 5 more liberators is just better than having the range upgrade.

I'm sad for innovation. Stork deserved the win. He clearly played at an incredible level. I just wish he'd been matched against a less loved Terran =(.

Thanks for the Youtube AfreecaTV link, wasn't aware of that. My God, Stork played so good ! And he looked so happy when he finally defeated INnoVation, what a joy to watch -as much as I love INnoVation.

LOL, again. When loading up the twitch vod it just shows the final results for 5 seconds before loading completely. And afreeca stream keeps jumping 15/30 seconds ahead at random times. Why can't we get the GOM stream back.

yeah innovation just got behind early. but game 3 was so amazing. he just turtled while harassing with 4 marines and a medivac. he flew it back and forth between main and natural, landing perfectly out of cannon range shaving like 2-3 probes every time and losing nothing. eventually, i think he got bored with it and just let it die.

he produced more and more liberators while turtling, and then upgraded to advanced ballistics. from there, he simply moved out and smashed the protoss. it was a massacre, with ranged liberators covering nearly a third of the map from far away. (tasteless joked that if only he had 9 liberators, he could cover the entire map with liberation zones.) he kept unsieging and sieging, placing zones that would cut off backward movement from his opponent while kiting w mmm. then, like a sudden rising of the tide, he ceased kiting and reversed right back into the army, cutting off their forward movement away from the liberation zones. it was actually pretty disgusting - immortals stunned like beached whales, twitching their parts while getting hammered from above, their dead remains bounding through the air like popcorn over pools of blue ooze.

If he gets PvP against Zest or another top toss, then I would say he is screwed. If vs T or Z it is possible he can do like he did vs Inno and prepare some unique harass/timing builds that can be tailored to the specific opponents.

I'd be extremely surprised if having that much additional range isn't worth 5 more liberators, unless you build very few of them.

That doesn't matter, since you get the upgrade while maxed or able to max on your production facilities anyway.

The upgrade isn't as useful as it might seem, the main benefit is harassment. You usually want most of your Liberators to be inside their area of doom so that they can protect themselves, otherwise your Liberators are very exposed.

I don't really see your logic, as the range upgrade makes them less exposed when leap-frogging towards the enemy.
